GOVERNMENT AND TRADES UNION COUNCIL MEET TO DISCUSS SOC...
September 8th, 2009, St. George’s: Minister for Finance, Honourable Nazim Burke and Minister for Labour, Honourable Karl Hood, met with the Executive of the Grenada Trades Union Council (GTUC) on Thursday 3rd September, 2009 at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Finance, to discuss the resumption of talks around the Social Protocol. The GTUC’s delegation was led by GTUC’s President Mrs. Madonna Harford. The initial part of the meeting was used to clear up a possible misunderstanding between the two parties regarding the submission of the GTUC’s draft Industrial Tripartite Protocol and feedback. The Government’s delegation suggested that the key issues raised within the GTUC’s draft Industrial Tripartite Protocol could be accommodated within the wider social protocol that had been prepared by the Drafting Committee of the Multipartite Committee earlier this year. The GTUC agreed to continue the social protocol talks. These talks are scheduled to resume on Tuesday 15th September at 7pm. Both parties agreed that the key issues addressed in the GTUC’s draft Industrial Tripartite Protocol will be placed at the top of the agenda at the resumed talks.

Littleboy, you have the right name; Littleboy, it's name and nature. You surely acted like a littleboy. Who are you to say we don't need Trade Unions? What corruption are you talking about? You don't have to join a Trade Union if you if you are not in favour of unions but whats about the thousands of workers who see benefits from being a union member? Are you speaking for them? Go and play with your marbles Little guy.

Only dictators and communists do not see the need for trade unions. Trade unions are still an indespensible organization in the country, socially and economically speaking.

We do not need any Trade Unions here anymore. This is a tool for corruption and price gouging. Strict enforceable laws are whats needed to ensure the rights of the workers.
