click
From the Beaton, Laura, La Femme, Bailles Bacollet Community Development Organization Andrea Williams, 33 years old was involved in a chopping incident which took place in Beaton, the last Saturday in August. Her right arm was severed below the elbow and the thumb of the left hand was also chopped off. Other injuries sustained in the attack included cut wounds to her breast and back along with a dislocated shoulder. The perpetrator of the attack was Godfrey Simeon, 46, the father of her children. The attack occurred after Simeon attempted to resurrect their relationship, which had allegedly ended due to his physical abuse and drug use. After the initial altercation, Simeon left the area and then returned with a cutlass which was the weapon used in the attack. Ms. Williams has 6 children and works as a house cleaner and babysitter. She is a member of the Beaton, Laura, La Femme, Bailles Bacollet Community Development Organization, and she was promised a house before this incident happened. The goal of the organization is to work with the relevant bodies to give her whatever help she needs which will be long term. This will have to be in the areas of childcare and housekeeping. Thanks gabe, you are correct; something has to be done. Grenadians should not tolerate such wicked behaviour in the year 2009. Coward men should not be allowed to treat our women in such barbaric manner. That idiot viciously dismembered the poor woman; the mother of his children. What does that fool think he did to the children? His criminal act will affect the innocent children for the rest of their lives. I hope he gets the maximum penalty with very hard labor to support his children and their mom. Grenadians, please do whatever it takes to STOP this evil; DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

Fellow grenadians i have said this before and i will say it again we in grenada together with government will and must do something about the escalation of this type of crime which is becoming very common every day in our country and i now believe that it is now time to make it an indictable offence for any one holding a cutlass without a permit and also any one carrying a cutlass in a public place (exposed)without a casing, this weapon should be confiscated and the person or persons charged with having and offensive in a public place. Grenada is moving forward and we as a people and our government have to bring in laws to rid our country of this type of crime because for to long we have accepted this type of crime against women, domestic violence be it against men or women is a crime, a cowardly nast crime and offenders should be jailed if found guilty we cannot and should not have to tolerate this in our modern time and specially in grenada, one love one grenada.
