GOVERNMENT FAILURE TO PAY PUBLIC WORKERS
From the Office of the Leader of the Opposition St. George's, Grenada October 1st, 2009: Leader of the Opposition, Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, says the late payment of Government workers is another clear indication of the inability of the Tillman Thomas Administration to manage the economy. Dr. Mitchell says he empathies with the many workers who are unable to meet their monthly commitments on time as a result of the irresponsible and careless conduct of this administration. He said this situation further confirms the IMF assessment that Grenada’s economy is now worse than it was after the passage of Hurricane Ivan. He noted that even after a Hurricane that devasted the entire country, the NNP administration was able to pay the salaries of all workers on time. Dr. Mitchell says the current administration seems not to care about the people of the country and the hardship that they face. He pointed to the fact that in the face of the financial disaster that Grenada now faces that Government ministers and officials continue to travel in large delegations to attend social functions and meetings that would bring no significant benefits to the country. The Opposition Leader says he is also amazed that while some Government workers remain uncertain about receiving salaries for the month of September, the Minister of Finance has chosen to leave the country on a ten days trip. The Opposition therefore calls on the Tillman Thomas administration to ensure that all Government workers are paid immediately to prevent any further hardship to their families. The Opposition also calls on the Government to implement urgent measures to reverse this developing trend of paying workers late and having to seek help from other Countries to pay monthly salaries. The Opposition believes that it is a sad state of affairs when the Government has to go to foreign countries to seek assistance to pay salaries. This no doubt confirms the view of the IMF that the Grenada economy is in a catastrophic state. Finally the Opposition calls on the Government to desist from the constant attacks on local and foreign investors as this will continue to have further negative implication for the growth of the economy. According to the Opposition Leader it is unfortunate that Government continues to focus its efforts on trying to destroy the leadership of the New National Party rather than on building the country.

If NNP was in power, Public workers will never get their payment late, YOH CRAZY. Uncle Ketty would have never let that happen. THE AMOUNT OF DAMN LOUIS VITTON'S BRIEFCASE OF MONEY we would be getting, Happy Hill would have been busy on Saturdays you would think it's Labour Day in Brooklyn. But I am just thinking, what would Keith sold this time,Grand Etang Lake. Just imagine,we're more than a year with the NDC administration and we still have to be dealing with NNP, BOWEN and their dishonesty. HEAVEN HELP US ALL. I hope there is no more to come

Keith, GET REAL. You are just making yourself look worse than I thought and also guilty. The IMF stated that the economy is worse now than after hurricane Ivan, then something drastic happened between that time and now beside the NDC beating you. Do you know what was going on? Do you know who was in power? How much were you paying the WILDMAN? Couldn't a Grenadian do that job? What percent of Grenada was sold and what happen to the payment? All I know is a guy name Keith Mitchell was in power. I also heard that he was involved in scaldall after scandall. I heard of corruption with the call center plus much more including briefcase of D... money. Whats about Grenadians who lost their hard earned money in your friend's Cap Bank? Who gave him the license even though there was a red flag? Don't you think that contribute to the economic downfall? Was it the NDC in power at that time? Why don't you do something sensible about that mess you caused under your watch? Stop reminding Grenadians about the causes of the financial problem. You will get in big trouble if you continue talking without thinking. Keith, please tell Grenadians how much money you left in the treasury after being kicked out. Please give us an honest idea of what the state of Grenada's economy should be at this time. Give us some sensible and realistic breakdown if you want us to blame the NDC. YOU CAN'T DO THAT; THATS OPENING PANDORA'S BOX. Be honest for once. Don't use the bad economy to score political points. This is not fair to the Grenadian People. We are all in this together. This is not the time to make a mockery of Grenada's economy. Things are bad around the world. Please educate the people. You are an intelligent man. Use your intelligence to assist the Grenadian people instead of making them more sad and frustrated. You will gain support by doing something for Grenada. People will look up to you as an outstanding Grenadian. The hardships facing Grenada is no joke, let's deal with it seriously. Please don't mislead the people. I will visit the Grenada Embassy in Washington not to Protest like I understand some of you did, when we were struggling to build our International Airport, buying Airport Bonds and working long voluntary hours. I will visit and find out what I can do as a Grenadian to help out my Country. I know times are hard; when the Develop World cough, the poor countries like Grenada catch pneumonia. Keith, don't make Grenadian feel that the NDC is travelling just for the sake of travelling. You know better than that. The NDC needs to attrack good investors not money launderers like Van Brink (excuse me if I spell his name incorrectly). Grenadians know who I an talking about. Every country needs good investors not FBI wanted men, they will only thief more. Grenadians know about the passport problem with Canada, that's another reason why our economy is in trouble. I don't think the NDC was in power during that time. Instead, the NDC is trying to solve that problem so that Grenadians can get a small break. That's one of the trips and cost you could have saved Grenada. Traditionaly, Grenadians including your close relatives migrated to Canada without visa and earn a living and to help their loved ones back home. I am very disappointed with you. I encouraged my relatives and friends to vote for you when I heard you went back to Grenada and was contesting elections. I really thought you were going to be a good asset to Grenada. However, I was wrong. To my friends and relatives I sincerely apologise for misleading you all; by encouraging you all to vote this person who is acting like a little boy and who put the Island in so much trouble. I can NEVER, NEVER ask anyone to vote for you again. I will continue to do the opposite. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. You will NOT fool me or Grenadians any more. USE YOUR TIME WISELY. Grenadians deserve much better.

These comments seems over-inflated for a one time thing. (subject to correction) If the late payment of salaries becomes habitual then some of the comments will be well warranted.

Keith buoy, you should be ashamned of yourself. Anyone can do better than you.
