By Lester Smith 05.10.09 It's no wonder why he is the leading goalscorer in Zone B in the Junior Division. Jamie Sylvester scored in every match so far for the St. David’s Catholic Secondary School. Their latest victory was a well-deserved one when they journeyed to the northern parish to face Grenada Seventh Day Adventist. Sylvester scored twice as his team edged past their opponents 2-1 over at the River Sallee Grounds. Jamie Sylvester leads the Division with six (6) goals. In the Senior Division, Grenada Seventh Day earned a very narrow 1-0 win as they had to give the home fans a reason to cheer. The lone goal came from Rondell Paul. Consider it an upset or is it a team that is playing good football..Wesley College gave the Mc Donald College Coaching Staff a shocker as they outplayed them to a 2-1 win at the Queens Park. Wesley College will fancy their chances in this year’s Junior Division as they seem set to qualify for the quarterfinals. Mc Donald College went unbeaten in that Division last year. Well as to say they were revengeful of the lost, they hammered the Wesley College Seniors 6-0 in the second game. Daniel Toussaint leads that Division with six (6) goals. In the other match played on Monday, SAASS emerged 4-1 winners over Westerhall Secondary in the Juniors and were also victorious in the Seniors with a 2-0 win. Looking at the league standings, Mc Donald College leads the Senior Division on 12 pts from four matches, Grenada Seventh Day Adventist is in 2nd Place on nine (9) pts from three matches and SAASS in third with six (6) pts from three matches. In the Junior Division, St. David’s Catholic Secondary leads with ten (10) pts while SAASS and MDC each have seven (7) pts. The Tournament continues on Tuesday with matches in Zone A in both the Junior and Senior Division. Happy Hill will play host to Boca Secondary at the Beausejour Playing Field. Another Western Derby as the St.Mark’s Secondary battles the St.Rose Modern Secondary at the Alston George Park and the feature match will be played at the Roy St.John formerly named the Tanteen Recreation Ground. GBSS will have to play to their strengths to earn victory over the St.John’s Christian Secondary who defeated defending champions St.Mark’s in their last match.
