RIGHTSTART GIRLS FOOTBALL COMPETITION KICKS OFF

By Lester Smith 08.10.09 RightStart Girls Football action started today with three matches. In Zone A, Serese Hood scored five goals and Karlene Teleford added a sixth as Happy Hill Secondary School defeated St.Rose Modern Secondary School 6-1 at the Beausejour Playing Field. Scoring the lone goal for St.Rose was Adiller Duncan. Over in Zone B, SAASS edged past St.Joseph's Convent St. Andrews 2-1 at the Progress Park. Sherene Beggs scored twice for SAASS and Kay Peters netted for St.Joseph's Convent. Further to the north, Boca Secondary and Grenada Seventh Day Adventist played to a 2-2 draw over at the River Sallee Field. Akisha Charles scored the both goals for Boca while Luanda Edwards and Shena Wellington scored for Grenada Seventh Day Adventist late in the match. In other matches played today. RightStart action moved to Carriacou as defending champions St. Marks Secondary School won comfortably over host Bishops College 4-1 to continue their unbeaten run in the Tournament. The RightStart Cup - Knock out - will start on Friday with four (4) matches: Grenada Seventh Day Adventist will play host to St.Rose Modern Secondary at River Sallee. Wesley College and St. Johns Christian Secondary at Queens Park. Boca Seconadary and Happy Hill Secondary over at the Roy St.John Playing and Mc Donald College and the Westerhall Secondary will square off at Fond. Two other matches are down to be decided on Friday, SAASS will journey over to the Sister Isle to play against Hillsborough Secondary in the Junior Division. Also playing in the Juniors are Grenville Secondary and Westmorland at the Roy St. John Playing Field.
