MANY SCHOOL STUDENTS DOWN WITH FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS
A number of schools in the country have recorded an increase in the number of students and teachers coming down with ‘flu-like symptoms’ during the course of this week. A secondary school in St.George’s had to be closed for two days while local health officials conducted the necessary investigations to ensure that the school was safe for students to return. Also, health officials have confirmed that there are new cases of the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus on the island. Parents have been advised to keep their children at home and not send them to school if they have any flu-like symptoms. Additionally, the population has been advised to practice proper hygiene at all times and to try and protect themselves from contracting the H1N1 virus.
