The girls from the St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) are this year’s winners of the Right Start Football tournament (in the girls' division), played among secondary schools in the nation.
The girls came up in the finals at Progress Park, St. Andrew’s, against the Boca Secondary School (BSS) on Tuesday November 17. The game was keenly contested and had all the hallmarks of an enthralling final. In the end, SAASS was able to find the back of their opponent’s goal twice while the girls from Boca were only able to find the back of the SAASS goal once.
SAASS has now won the Right Start tournament in the girls division for four years, making them the powerhouse in women’s football in Grenada. The coach of the SAASS team is Michael “Niko’ Felix, a former national coach.
