NO SALTED HAM…NO CHEESE???

Many Grenadians have been expressing deep frustration and utter disappointment this Christmas season because they are finding it difficult to get salted hams and cheese for their festive celebrations. It seems that supermarkets and shops throughout the country have run out of supplies of both items. One local importer of cheese has said that a delayed shipment of cheese will be coming into the country after Christmas. As for the salted ham, it is believed that local businessmen may not have ordered many hams this year as a result of their experiences last Christmas season and their assessment of the local economy, which is caught in the midst of a grueling economic recession. There are, however, supplies of frozen hams and turkey hams available to local shoppers, but many of them are of the view that Christmas will not be Christmas without their salted ham.
