Grenada’s opposition New National Party (NNP), headed by Opposition Leader, Dr. Keith Mitchell, attended a church service on Sunday December 20 at the Tivoli R C Church to celebrate the party’s Silver anniversary – a significant milestone in the party’s history. The special service was attended by the Political Leader, Dr. Keith Mitchell; General Secretary, Mr. Roland Bhola; Chairman, Mr. Gregory Bowen, other members of the Executive as well as supporters of the NNP. A cake, which was specially made to memorialize this important occasion, was presented to the priest by the party’s executive body. It was given as a gift to the thirty-nine (39) children who also took their first communion on that day. In his brief remarks during the service, Dr. Mitchell said that the NNP chose to attend church in Tivoli to celebrate its 25th anniversary because the venue was a very important to the party. He told the gathering that the NNP recognized God as the driving force behind the phenomenal growth and successes of the party over the years and that the Almighty must always be recognized in everything that the party does and constantly be given thanks and praise. Other activities will be taking place over the upcoming weeks as part of the NNP’s 25th anniversary celebrations. The next grand activity is a dinner and dance at the former Governor General’s residence on December 31, 2009.

I keep connected to Grenadian news through GC. I do not have a party of choice, I live outside of Grenada, however I do keep connected with most of the political issues with all parties. People must understand that with politics you can't win with an argument because everyone has their own opinion as to who is right and who is wrong, a strong party leader and a weak part leader. What we need to do is keep that in mind and judge not just a politician's weaknesses but also praise their strengths. I do not know a Prime Minister or President who is perfect, as a matter of fact I do not know any human who is perfect. So Gabe, hopefully you would read this and not write forums simply because of bias and dislike. You are way too negative and judgemental. We all have opinions and freedom of speech but but you are steadily becoming like a broken record and you are losing your leverage because of your pessimisms.

Congratulations to the NNP on their twenty-fifth Anniversary. The scene at the Tivoli R.C Church celebrating the NNP's milestone is very touching. I am also very impressed with Dr. Mitchell's statement "..... the almighty must always be recognized in everything that the Party does......". I say Amen to that. As a sinner, I will not cast a stone. However, I hope that the NNP will remember that statement in the future especially during the next election campaign. I trust that the NNP will invite decent artists to perform while campaigning so that our children can hear clean and sensible lyrics. I also hope that the Party will not be involved in corruption in the future. It's always nice to sincerely turn to the Creator for his guidance but it's very dangerous when we try to use him conveniently. Congratulations once more to the NNP and please remember your good words in your decisions from now on. May God bless Grenada and I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very successful new year.

Gabe,I have been reading your post for some time now and I am of the distinct belief you are not concernd about the well being of the peaceful loving people of Grenada. Its time you get over this obsession with Dr. Mitchell and the NNP. They are no longer in power. Its time you should focus on helping the NDC to provide help for the people whom they promise so much and are yet to deliver. Instead they have removed all the safety nets programs; such as the free milk to the needy families who have young babies and are not in a position to provide for themselves. You are not in residing in Grenada and cannot feel the pains or you are so caught up with your hatred that you dont care about the people. This is the season of giving and showing love to the less fortunate in the society. So you should commend the NNP for the gesture. It is very touching to see the NNP recognizing that their strength come from God. And for your edification, God is still a forgiving father, as He said in His word "come boldly before the throne of grace and obtain Mercy..." You need to do that to. God's servants will encourage all to follow His word. But then again, I cannot expect anything better from you while you are in this condition, for you lied on me and you will lie on anybody else. Therefore anybody in their right mind cannot believe anything you post. November 20th 2009 you posted that I ran in the last elections. I did not. You are not credible, and cannot be trusted.

Mr Mitchell and the NNP party i would also like to congratulate the NNP party on reaching this mile stone and at the same time to remind our people that is it sometimes funny how politicians used the church when all else fails, people do you remember when the NNP won one of their three terms in office and they got this minister from the states to do this big party /blessing in the the stadium ,the question i now pose is this was god not with the nnp party or is that they were to big a party to used this small church or are they now using the church to show our people that they are after all gods people and whats with the cake for the children, come on tell me how long did it take the nnp and their supportes to get our schools running after Ivan and Emilly grenadians please dont be fooled by this sudden belief of HM opposition in the almighty god they are wolf in sheep clothing their sudden belief and the using of the church is to make us believe that they are gods people ,please remember that satan comes to you in many shapes and sizes and recently they have been using all kinds of tricks to make us believe that they are now godly like hell they are .
