CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTINGS THROUGHOUT ST. ANDREW’S NW
click
ST. ANDREW’S - New National Party (NNP) caretaker for the constituency of St. Andrew’s North West, Mrs. Delma Thomas, was able to bring the Christmas spirit to many villages throughout the rural constituency this year. In spite of the very tough economic times, scarce financial resources and the fact that the New National Party is no longer holding the reins of power in the country, Mrs. Thomas was able to organize fund raising events and mobilize support from people within the St. Andrew’s community to have the traditional Christmas tree lightings in eleven villages in St. Andrew’s NW. She said that the turnout at the lightings was very encouraging and that both adults and children in the different villages were happy that she was able to continue this tradition. She is of the belief that Christmas is a time for recognizing the birth of our savior Jesus Christ, and demonstrating the ideals for which He stood namely love, compassion, peace and goodwill to everyone. Mrs. Thomas wishes to thank all persons who would have given their time, effort and the little that they had during these tough and challenging economic times to make this year’s Christmas tree lightings a reality.
