Br. Gabe, as much as my views can be quite provocative, I do have nough respect for you and Joan...though at times I tend to be very critical, please don't take it too personal...we've got to engage each other on the facts and as we see fit. I know our PM has got a tough job to do. Simultaneously, he knew what he was getting into prior to running and elected to office. The economy which you and NDC are blaming on NNP is a blatant sham. Realistically, I would like an answer to the following: If NNP was making such blunder with the country's economy, where were Tillman Thomas, NDC and the other opposition parties...Why were they in hiding, why were they the silence...why weren't they challenging and engaging Mitchell and NNP during their reckless spending as you and NDC are claiming...can't you see that the NDC administration are using NNP as a scapegoat? If Mitchell can challenge Tillman and NDC on the VAT issue and force them to making changes...why didn't you, Tillman and NDC do the same during the NNP reign? My brother, the Grenada treasury was not left empty when NDC too office. It's a distractable strategy used by NDC. Once again, I am not alligned to any political parties...just a simply observer. And Joan, although I have found you to be quite subjective and NDC conditioned, I honestly respect your views and hope your eyes would soon allow you to see the light. Nought respect!

Damond my friend i hear you and will respect your views and the freedon to say it as you see it and i am sure that YOU will allow both my self and Joan to also put our views forward and like you, i am not a paid up member of any one of these political parties just a supporter and i take that view because having grown up with part of the Uncle Gairy clan - they promise you better, you vote for them- but when they get into office they behave like all the rest greedy and then they forget thoes poorest who voted for them with the promise to better our country and our selves but that being said i will support the NDC because i still do believe that the Prime Minister The R H Tillman Thomas is the right man to lead our country from the style and goverance of Mitchell for although Mitchell government during there time in office did do some good for our country it was at great cost /expence and great sufferings to our people that of which we are now paying the cost today vat for example and yes we all want our country to return to some sort of sustainable financial stability but then again our people should not sit on their backside and think that uncle Tilly will fix this and fix that we as a people has to get up and get /do some for ourselves and to quote a saying -DONT THINK WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU -THINK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY-

Bro Gabe, I am not a alligned to any of our political parties...simply saying that I would forever support NNP, GULP, your party when it comes to speaking out and challenging our current government or future government on their failure and neglect to respond to the critical needs of our people. My friend, it's the responsibility of the opposition to serve as a buffer, benchmark, checks and balances on behalf of the people, especially those who are powerless and have no voice or influence in the matter. NNP is doing what's expected of it. It aught tp continue to challenge and hold Tillman Thomas and his cronies accountable. They had the same opportunity during NNP 13 year reign and did absolutely nothing. They're as equally responsible for whatever mess you may be claiming the NNP administration left behind. Bro. Gabe, both you and Joan must be held equally responsible too.

Bro. Damond in my last posting please note that i was not any conclusion between the wealth of grenada and britain, i was only quoting the(VAT)as an examlple ,you also said that britain have in place a well structured health care and other support system in place to combat any short fall that may befall the poorer in society, but that system may have always been there, and the question i posed is the NNP had thirteen years to put measures in place to assist the poorest in our country in the event of such financial downturn but what did they do they and their financial backers put all their eggs in the tourist developement basket (in St Georges) which only benifit thoes who could afford .And again i ask what would they NNP had done had they won the last election and faced with the same financial problem faced by this government.Damond sometimes the cure seems worst than the bite and in this case lets hope that the cure in not going to be long on the backs of our people.

Bro. Gabe, please don't draw compasions between and industrial well developed country to an underdeveloped island-Grenada. Britain has a well-structured, sustainable and sound educational, social, health care...system in place to support its citizens, especially when they have become unemployed or underemployed. Those industrialized nations are capable of increasing its VAT to such 20% with no hardship on its people. Grenada 200% increased VAT should never be compared to that of England. Britain has a sustainable and prodicing economy whjich evidently generate a strong revenue flow. Grenada does not have any of the latter. Please my brother, don't you ever attempt to draw such conclusion.
