Hillsborough, Carriacou, December 14th, 2010- Tuesday, December 21st, 2010 is an important date for the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs. It is the official opening of the Top Hill/Belair Road that was reconstructed a few months ago and is already being used by motorists. The road, approximately 3000ft in length, leads to Carriacou’s lone hospital, Princess Royal, and connects the eastern villages. The road was in a deplorable condition for many years and previous administrations never fulfilled their promise of fixing it. The completion of the project is considered a major accomplishment of the National Democratic Congress administration. Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas along with Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Senator George Prime, is expected to cut the ribbon to officially open the road on Tuesday at 3pm.
