STATEMENT OF THE NEW NATIONAL PARTY ON COUNSELING BEIN...
click
Member of Parliament for St. Mark’s, Hon. Clarice Modeste- Curwen says it is with grave concern and dismay that the New National Party has learnt that the cabinet members of the Tillman Thomas administration are presently engaged in a series of counseling sessions. It is to be noted that counseling is usually diagnosed in the treatment for depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder among other mental ailments. Whilst the NNP cannot conclusively determine that it is the diverse mix of political ideologies or inadequate leadership within the ruling NDC administration that could have given rise to any of those mental abnormalities, nonetheless, the behavioral patterns of those individuals within the cabinet, without a doubt, are impacting negatively on the governance of the country. The former Minister raised this concern at the seating of Parliament earlier today; she said that the present situation questions whether the NDC administration is in a position to govern the country effectively and efficiently. This is a concern being expressed by many individuals within the society. In fact many blame the consistent irrational behaviour of the present administration directly for the apparent unwillingness of investors to invest in the country, for the lack of adequate job opportunities, and for the general state of economic malaise with which the country now experiences. Are these the symptoms of dysfunctional behaviour patterns on the part of the NDC cabinet members? It is with some measure of relief however, that the NNP has learnt that the cabinet members have acknowledged their dysfunctional behaviour patterns, albeit two and a half years after being in government. If, however, their decision to seek counseling from “a Shrink” is what is required to save Grenada, then it is a step in the right direction. The New National Party expresses the hope that within the remainder of the term of the NDC administration, the country will be able to remain stable, so that true governance will return in the near future in order that substantial benefits will once again accrue to the Grenadian people. I dont know if Dr. Modeste -Curwen is still practicing Medicine but she is behaving like someone who everyone forgot is a Doctor, and she is feeling ignored. So to remind everyone that she is still a Doctor, she rush and look up her Medical Dictionary to choose some words that will make her look smart, but knowing Dr Curwen nothing will make her look or sound smart, not even that RED HAT. Dr. Curwen, YOUR STATEMENT IS REALLY OUT OF CONTEXT, HAS NO MEANING AND MAKE YOU LOOK AND SOUND STUPID. IT ONLY SHOWS THAT THE NNP HAS NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE NDC

The more we label each other for political points, the less atention we pay to the issue(s) at hand...confronting out country and people, the less likely the economy, social, educational...development will improve. We the people aught to determine the course of our country...we do that thru the ballot.

Bro. Stallion thank you for your response to my posting and yes i do know and like you it also hurts me to know that our young is sitting by each day doing nothing and as is often said idle hands are the devils tools .Bro Stallion i still remember Victoria being as being a vibrant and lively place with an enterprising and business like culture there was several shops ,big shops, little shops ,a vibrant local farmers market ,sweet drinks makers, that was then and yes we have advance but it seems that the business mentality that was once the pinacle/apex of our people in St Marks has now disappeared and what we now have is a victoria with nothing much happening and i tell you this thank god for the organisers of the food fair which takes place at the end of each month so Bro Stallion like you i am also concern that for too often our elected members of parliament up and down the country takes the view once elected that people only vote for them because they like them and not because of the partys mandate that was put before them the voters during the election campaign.

i hear you gabe.i agree about the creation of jobs for the youths.but i tell you,i know firsthand, jobs were offered to some youths in victoria, but they refuse saying they not going to work on the streets or in bush.are we to blame this on claris?she may not be perfect but i would not place the blame squarely on her.but if she is almost guaranteed another victory in the next election, what does that say about the other parties?ndc and the other parties need to step up then.but bro.gabe,i agree with your sentiments that representatives need to focus more on job creation and less on playing politics.and i also agree about the estates in victoria.my mother worked on that estate for quite a number of years.but things started falling apart after bro.bishop was murdered.this would be a great opportunity for ndc to do something here.as you said, that estate is abandoned and use less.nnp also had opportunities to do something over the last number of years.as you said, time for mps to stop playing politics and do something useful for the people.

Stallion my friend in my posting i made reference to the fact that Ms MODESTE IS A DOCTOR /Medical person and maybe that was the reason why her party used her as the spokesperson for this story and my take on this is that there are much more serious issues within st marks that should be address. As for your suggestion that she is almost certain to be re-elected if there was an election in the future ,well that may be,but what does that tell me or you ,well for me i tell you this it only goes to show that some voters will vote with their hearts instead of their heads Again you claim that what is the difference between victoria /st marks and other parts of grenada well again i say this to you lets go back and have a look at what has happened to the parish of St Marks ,for i tell you this parish used to have several of its people working on thoes estates and bringing home a weekly or forthnight earning ,thoes estates have now gone, and now compare to what is taking place in these other parishes for example St John there is currently a programme of development on the lance, and also in grenville there is proposal for a re-development -but in St Marks nothing and for the young people no work and no prospect from a business prospective,so Br.Stallion this is where i am coming from for when a parish elects an M.P.this member should be doing its dammest and should be seen to be doing all he or she can to further the employment prospect of its voters young and old and should remember the promises /mandate that was put before the voters and from my prospective nothing much is being done within the parish of St Marks.for the people of St Marks.
