ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, Tuesday, December 14, 2010: The Government of Grenada will on Thursday December 16th, 2010 (thisThursday), launch its Valuation Appeal Board, at the Ministry of Finance Conference Room. The Appeal Commissioners, who will form the Board, are to hear and adjudicate on appeals of any taxpayer who files an appeal with the Board after assessment of valuation of their property by the Comptroller of Inland Revenue. They will also arbitrate appeals on Property Transfer Tax. The Board will be chaired by Ms. Claudette Joseph, Attorney at law. The launch of the Valuation Appeal Board comes as Government continues to strengthen the Inland Revenue Department’s ability to enforce all the tax laws. The launch will take the form of a short introductory meeting with the Minister of Finance, followed by an orientation of the members.
