MIXED FEELINGS OF SORROW AND SOLIDARITY
On behalf of Motiv-8 For Change International, I will like to firstly express my deep sadness over the recent occurrence in St. David which has not only seen the premature demise of a fellow Grenadian Canadian, but has brought our Royal Grenadian Police Force into questionable disrepute of "Ongoing Police Brutality" in the international media, especially the Canadian media here. Although I am extremely troubled by the outcome of this tragic situation and express my deep condolences to the family and relatives of Mr. Oscar Bartholomew, simultaneously, on behalf of Motiv-8 For Change International, I have to register my solidarity with the RGPF, a very credible and respectful institution with which I have worked over the past years. Let me go on record as saying that as the president of Motiv-8 For Change International a Toronto based Social Skill Agency, during my past years of working along with the RGPF, I have personally experienced a high degree of professionalism and respect from street level policing to top administrative level. However, even if I have worked with all the various RGPF demographical divisions, SSU and Immigration in the past and relish the great experience, I cannot doubt the existence of individuals within the force who have the ability to cause such serious disrepute to the RGPF while inflicting much grief and pain to victims and their families. It is for this reason that ASP Terrence Noel who overlooked my work at the police college in 2004, and saw the power and impact of these sessions on his officers, arranged a meeting and presentation for me with Superintendent Martin in July 2011. After seeing a complete outlay of the multi-dimensional approach of "Project STOP 'n' THINK" -our international crime prevention campaign which emphasizes a Professional Development "Impulse Control" component for officers, Sup. Martin immediately referred me to ASP Mc Intyre of the Community Relation Department for investigating, negotiating and planning how these sessions could be delivered to the community and also to officers of the RGPF. The overall objective of this "Impulse Control" component is to equip officers with a strategy to help them to professionally pre-think their response, reactions and consequences before spontaneously reacting and suffering what can be bitter and lifelong consequences for themselves and others. By the way, our international official "Project STOP 'n' THINK" poster hangs in Gouyave, Victoria, GrandRoy, Grenville Police Stations and at the CRD Head office. However, because of budgetary allowances, these sessions could not be implemented, and even if as son of Grenada, I indicated that I was prepared to offer them almost free, it is with deep regret that the RGPF was not able to schedule them. Who knows, these sessions might have equipped the officers in question with "Project STOP 'n' THINK" Impulse Control Mechanism to deal with the temptation of impulsive reactions as seem evident in this current situation. To date and most recently, I have made over fifteen appearances on the live Canadian TV Shows "INSIDE WORLD REPORTS" and "ON THE LINE" as a guest to give my opinion on issues in the news. Let me say here that if called upon to give my opinion on this issue, although I will join the voices that condemn this brutality, I also promise to uphold the professionalism and respect of the Royal Grenada Police Force, while vindicating the good name of our citizens and homeland. In closing let me again offer the family of Mr. Bartholomew my heartfelt sympathies, and wish for you that the blessings and miracles of the new year will overshadow the grief and pain as you undertake the daunting task of moving on with your lives. Finally, I want to again go on record as offering my services to Grenada and the Bartholomew family to help in the healing process which this event has inflicted on our nation. I am prepared to reschedule my local and international assignments to respond if called. God bless Grenada and I wish all a Happy New Year. By Neals J. Chitan

Joe and Littleboy, I definitely think all take similar staunch on the Gang 17, the British and American political systems. Yes, justice will never be served until our people should rise above their nakedness, blindness, self centeredness and remember what the Gang 17 did to the head of state, his cabinet and law abiding citizens. Somebody has got to be preaching that message every minute, hour, day, night, month and year in and out. We do not have a hero. There's none left who is willing to take up the mantle. Our enemy is too ignorant (masses). Our enemy holds power (Tillman Thomas, Leon Cornwall, Hudson, Strachan, Coard, Ventura, Celcil Prime). We have got to preach and remind the younger generations of what these men did to the one (maurice) who brought us a sense of country pride, education, etc. We need to talk of their evil deeds as often as possible

I hear you loud and clear my brother. Maybe I were not too clear with my comments. I strongly agree that the sentences should be carried but now they are out and enjoying tax payers money, I would rather the Imperial Masters live among them in their rich Europeans neighbour hoods.

Hold it there Joe, I littleboy am not and was never in favor of any gang of 17 and imperial masters as you call them and their nasty deeds. I actually wish those guys the whole 17 were swinging from a rope right now. My take here here and now is that we do not need any Privy Council to tell us we can't hang these criminals. Like I said before,if I had my way, I would send all these hangmen to live in England with the members of the Privy Council and their wives and children instead of staying here in Grenada alive and well in our prisons and now free. They killed our leaders and now they are free, and their followers have the biggest jobs here by the idiot people we elected who wee also put in Prison by Bishop. Can't you see something is wrong?

Great points Littleboy and The Observer. I agree with you guys 100%. Just to add, the Prevy Council, the British and the U.S were only concerned about turning back the Revo. All the old talk and LIES about military base in Point Saline ended after Coard/Austin and the other CREEPS killed the Island leadership and made it easier for The U.S invasion. Point Saline changed from a military base to an airport with no revision to the design, after the invasion. The Imperial Masters were and still are, not concern about the good of Grenada. The dirty 17 did started the job for them. I will support any petition calling on the Imperial Masters to keep the Gang of 17 who carried out their dirty job. The Puppet Politicians will never have the pride to do so.

Littleboy, I really like your sense of reasoning, however, England will never accept member of the Gang 17. The British would not take such a gamble. The queen and her Privy Council would rather see them shifted from one Black Caribbean island to the next. They'd not be allowed, not even in her backyard. And should they be allowed into USA and Canada, these barbarians would have scrub and clean floors. Not hired in top government positions. Our government are able to get away with these unethical and immoral behaviors because the Grenadian masses are soft, selfish and self centered, wicked, afraid, and have not guts to stand up for what is right. I am sorry, but we are too uneducated to fully understand what's going on. Do you really think members of the Gang of 17 would gotten away with what they did to a country's head of state and his cabinet in any of the other Caribbean islands? Tillman Thomas, Keith Mitchell, Eric Gairy, Herbert Blaize, Brathwaite, Brizan, and Ben Jones with the exception of Maurice Bishop have taken and will continue to take the ignorance of the people for granted. Some of us are too easily bought and sold. We'll sell each other for pennies. In fact, ever since Mother Africa sold our ancestors, the curse of self degradation has never stopped.

Observer my brother, you speak words of wisdom. Boy I couldn't say it better. The one thing I would have to add. If I were Tillman or Mitchel, I would tell England and these bald headed Englishmen who run their stinking courts and let murderers go free is, the only way we let these murderers go free is if you take them in England to live in your neighbourhood and your country with your people, children and families and never to return to Grenada in any way because if we keep them here or see them here again anytime, they will be hung and swung soon.

Royr and Stallion, I will continue to stress the fact that we will forever be at the mercy of the British Privy Council unless we begin to see ourselves as an independent nation. Prior the 1776 Revolution of Independence, the United States had to succumb itself to similar conditions under the British. However, it graciously broke the backs of the it taxation giants. How dear our PM to say that he had no influence in the release and employment of the Gang 17. Who released and employed them? Who is paying the weekly or monthly $60,000+ annually? Grenada needs a leader who will help to educate and get and get our people to understand what's at stake when we continue to rely on others to meet our needs. Our most dreadful enemy is laziness and failure to sacrifice out own selfish happiness for the good of the country. Keith Mitchell administration allowed the release of Phyllis Coard. Tillman Thomas Administration allowed the release of the total Gang of 17 and provided them with lucrative positions within his government, while those lazy ass, dumb ass, backstabbing/backbiting Grenadians sat by and said nothing in their defense. Some of you expect others to come and do for you what you can actually do for yourselves. Grenada will forever be in debt to China, Taiwan, Japan, USA, England and Canada unless someone takes up the bull by the horn and sas "Enough is Enough."
