PRIME MINISTER VISITS WITH OSCAR BARTHOLOMEW'S WIFE
ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, 4 JANUARY, 2012_ Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has assured Mrs. Dolette Bartholomew, the widow of Oscar Bartholomew, who died as a result of an incident at a police station in St. David on Boxing Day, that his office will ensure that the investigation into the death of her husband will be thorough, complete and professional. The Prime Minister gave the assurance to Mrs. Bartholomew and other members of her husband’s family during a meeting at their home in Grand Anse, on Wednesday evening, Mr. Thomas, who is also responsible for National Security, extended his condolences to the family and said he was “greatly saddened” at the incident. “This is a regrettable tragedy and a painful experience for you, for his extended family and for all of us in Grenada. Our first priority is to ensure that the investigation is transparent and that justice prevails,” the Prime Minister told Mrs. Bartholomew, who was accompanied by her lawyer, Derick Sylvester. “We will take all the necessary steps to ensure, if at all possible, that this situation is never repeated in Grenada,” the Grenadian leader told Mrs. Bartholomew, acknowledging that the wide spread publicity given to the death of her husband has affected Grenada’s image as a law abiding country where the rights of people are respected. “I have many friends in Grenada and we came here for a visit with family and friends, not for this. All I want to see is justice,” Mrs. Bartholomew told the Prime Minister. The Grenadian leader has called for a review of the policy governing persons held in police custody, to ensure that they are treated appropriately.

Gabe, I would not sit idly by and allow you to mislead and silence the voice of freedom. You are a very narrow minded and think in the box kind of guy. Everything to you is politicize. Keith or NNP are always at fault. Be objective for once. i WILL CONTINUE TO OPPOSE YOU UNTIL YOU GET IT RIGHT

Gabe, Grenada will never improve unless some of the people's mindsets change. That hatred, animosity, jealousy, envy, grudge, disrespect and willingness to hurt those who seek to return home to see family, friends, neighbors must first be stopped. You and others have failed to recognize the contributions of diaspora Grenadians. In fact, you and your political leaders would do whatever is possible to ensue they do not return. You guys want things to remain just the way they are. No change, no threat to their positions

Bro Stallion nuff respect to you and may i say that although we may differ as to that is need to move our country forward and the process and policy that is needed i can say that we have never revert to name calling and personal attack as is the norn of some of our fellow posters here on GC,bro Stallion we as grenadians and friends of grenada have been fortunate enough to have GC as a means of contributing towards serious debates about the future of our country as to where we would like to see her going and the manner and policies that would benifit all our people, and it is important that our language reflects that but sad to say here in grenada it seems that some of our people is hell bent on a path to destruction for example the senseless killing of this grenadian gentleman who was here on a visit with his family to his home land plus there has been several other incidents here in grenada which is quite unacceptable as a civilize people and country and therefore i call upon our government and our people to stop in the name of god and decency and embrace each other in peace for we as a country cannot stand alone for the rest of the free world is watching us. one love.
