OPPORTUNITIES FOR POSTGRADUATE IN GERMANY |
|
|
Scholarship opportunities continue to become available for advanced studies for Grenadians in overseas territories. This, as government continues to place emphasis on the educational advancement of the country’s human resources.
Opportunities are now being made available for postgraduate studies in Germany for young professionals in - among other areas - political economics. That is one of the opportunities being offered through the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, to Grenadians, interested in pursuing postgraduate studies and training in their particular profession.
Opportunities are being offered in more than a dozen areas, including Development Co-operation, Engineering and Related Sciences, Mathematics, Regional Planning, Agriculture and Forest Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Medicine and Public Health, Veterinary Medicine, Social Sciences, Education and Law and Media Studies.
Candidates can either be self-financed or apply for a full or partial scholarship from the German Academic Exchange.
Eligibility is dependent on applicants being employed either in the public or private sector and being involved in the planning and execution of directives and projects with emphasis on development policies that have a bearing on technological, economics or social areas as well as having a Bachelor’s degree in the related subject.
Applicants are also expected to have completed an academic degree with grades above average and have at least two years of related professional experience. Age is also a requirement for eligibility, as applicants cannot be older than 36 and for some courses 32 years old. It must also be noted that applicants would have had to obtain their respective degrees not more than six years ago.
A deadline of Friday July 20 has been given for applications to the courses, which are scheduled for 2013; the courses will be tutored in either English or in both English and German. Additional information on accessing these and other opportunities can be accessed through the human resource development division and scholarship desk at the Ministry of Education. |
