BUDGET DAY IS FEBRUARY 13, 2004 Finance Minister Anthony Boatswain will present 2004 Budget on Friday, February 13, 2004. This announcement follows the approval of the 2004 Estimates of Expenditure by the Standing Committee on Finance today (February 05, 2004). The Standing Committee on Finance, which consists of all the members of the House of Representatives, met today for several hours to consider and approve the 2004 Estimates. Government has already announced that the theme for the 2004 Budget will be “Promoting Economic and Social Development through People’s Participation”. The theme reflects the strong emphasis that will be placed on agricultural development; education and training; youth development and health care in the upcoming Budget.
