A St. John resident who appeared at the St. George’s Magistrate’s Court today (Monday 17th September, 2012) on gun and ammunition charges has been granted bail in the sum of ten thousand dollars. Glen Mapp, 41 years old, Electrician of Maran, St. George was arrested after a search of his home, late last week, resulted in the discovery of one •38 (point three, eight) revolver, twenty-five rounds of ammunition and one spent shell. Mapp who has been charged with possession of a firearm, and, ammunition is due to reappear at the Gouyave Magistrate’s Court, on October 10th 2012 at 09:00 a.m. In another unrelated matter, Rick COURTNEY, 24 years old Construction Worker of Tivoli St. Andrew was arrested and charged at the weekend for stealing one .380 (point three, eight, zero) beretta pistol along with twelve rounds of ammunition. Courtney could make his Court appearance as early as tomorrow, Tuesday 18th September, 2012 at the Grenville Magistrate’s Court.
