MAREP'S ORIENTATION FOR CANDIDATES FOR SKILLS AND VOCAT...  
The Market Access and Rural Enterprise Development Programme (MAREP) will conduct an orientation session for one hundred and twenty successful applicants to its second cycle of Skills and Vocational Training and Certification programme. The successful applicants will receive scholarships to TAMCC for the 2012/2013 academic year. The Orientation session will be held Friday 21st September, 2012 at the Rose Hill Community Center in St. Patrick, commencing at 9 a.m. The 120 successful candidates were selected from 17 rural communities that were phased in by MAREP for implementation of its programmes for the period 2012 – 2014. The MAREP scholarship recipients are from rural communities including Mt. Rich, River Sallee and Sauteurs (St. Patrick), Resource and Union (St. Mark), Clozier and Florida (St. John), Paradise/Cocoa, Telescope and Soubise (St. Andrew), Vincennes and Windsor Forest (St. David) and New Hampshire (St. George). The candidates will pursue training at TAMCC in Commercial Food Preparation, Computer Repairs, Live Sound Engineering, Cosmetology, Early Childhood Development, Motor Vehicle Repair and ICT Web Design. The courses range from 6 – 12 months in duration. The 120 MAREP scholarship recipients who are expected to attend the scholarship orientation session on Friday 21st will be reviewing MAREP’s Terms and Conditions associated with the scholarship provided to them by MAREP. The Orientation session will also include information on the amount of Tuition provided to each candidate as well as other allowances such as transportation, meals, training materials and internship placement support. Scholarship recipients will also be informed about MAREP’s monitoring and evaluation of their performance as well as their obligation during and after their course of study. Each scholarship recipient will be given a MAREP scholarship agreement to study and sign, which will govern the relationship between the scholarship recipient and MAREP for the duration of the scholarship.
