ANOTHER GOVERNMENT MINISTER RESIGNS
Environment Minister Glynis Roberts on Thursday submitted her resignation to Governor General Sir Carlyle Glean. This is the latest resignation to hit Prime Minister Tillman Thomas’s ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government since April, following those of Tourism Minister Peter David and Foreign Minister Karl Hood. In a statement accepting Roberts's resignation as environment and foreign trade minister, PM Thomas offered no reason for her decision to quit but extended best wishes to the former minister. The Prime Minister has been under pressure for weeks with a no-confidence motion tabled in Parliament against him by Hood. Earlier this week Thomas requested the Governor General to prorogue Parliament, effectively causing the motion to be dropped from Parliament's Order Paper whenever the sittings resume. Roberts previously served as Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation; Minister of Labour and Ecclesiastic Affairs and Minister of Social Development. She is Member of Parliament for the constituency of St. George South. Explaining her decision to a local journalist, Roberts reportedly said her decision wasn't influenced by any of the backbenchers in Parliament. With general elections constitutionally due in Grenada by July of next year, political observers are following these events keenly.

my bro.littleboy,i have posted with you and gabe for a while here and we do discuss important things for the country.but from time to time you stray and say stupid and dumb things.tell me,what does it benefit us when you say we are "communist","from town",etc.please say something respectable and helpful to the debate.just because we disagree doesn't make us enemies.we all want the best for our country but we have differences of opinion how to achieve it.please refrain from these stupid statements that make no sense.all it does is make you look silly.

Bro.Stallion you have raised many questions re the Tillman Government and the way in which you and others claim our country is being run and yes you have raised a few valid points but lets look at some of these points, you say that the incoming government/NDC had promised the people jobs if elected, but my friend if grenadians had taken the time to study what was happening in our country during the reign of the NNP they would have seen or gain knowledge as to what was really happening with the then government and the things that was being hidden from them in terms of the real state of our economy being hidden from the people but you know as long as the handouts was given(sweetners) we the voters was blinded as to the real financial problems facing our people, again you say that there was no need to raise tax and if tax were to be raised why not tax thoes big shots government ministers and hangers on and in your words that would bring enough revenue into our country, my friend yes i will agree that the level of the increase of vat was high but can you tell us of any other ways a government can maintain its economic policies without some form of tax/vat ,tell us how are we as a country afford to maintain the sick in our hospitals, pay the workers, fix our roads, without some form of tax/vat ,my friend you and there are thoes who claims that bro.Bishop in conjunction with the Cubans was building an airport for soviet Military planes to land ,what a total load of rubbish for grenadians is forgetting that we were at the time the only small island state which did not have an airport fit enough for big planes to land and when our grenadian people and tourist decided to come to grenada for a holiday they had to take a plane to Barbados or Trinidad and that also goes for transporting cargoes to our country my bro yes we needed such an airport to get in line with all the other developing caribbean and world wide countries and which is vital for the running of our economy so my friend taking all this into consideration i for one dont care hoot if the Russians were coming as long as we have a first class airport thanks to Bro.Bishop and all the other countries who made this possible,Now for the gang of 17 bro.you known my view on this one and again it is time we educate our people as to why these people were release from their long term prison term and that had nothing to do with Tillman or his government, and another thing while we are on the gang of 17 please tell me and the rest of GC posters did you raised concerns when under the last government Bernard Coard wife was release from prison because quote she was a sick woman ,and were you also concern that quote while Bernard Coard was in prison here in grenada he was a sleeping/advisor to the then government of the and its finance minister in the NNP yes let us come clean and put our cards on the table and lets stop blame game where Tillman is concern yes he is the PM.and it is time Grenadians wake up and ask ourselves what after all these years-What you can do for your country, and not- What your country can do for you-our Bro.Kirani James and his olympic team as started the relay for they have shown the wide world what and where our beautiful country is all about and it is now up to us to pick up the baton and advance our sweet beautiful grenada let us make our grenada proud and also be proud to be grenadians. one love.

Stallion and Listen, this discussion is getting serious. I think in my heart of hearts Tillman Thomas is whats best for Grenada at this present time. I think he was unable to do his wishes because of these traitors he mistakenly surrounded himself with. Nevertheless they are all gone now, and I know he will pick up the slack. We as Grenadians have been having things too easy these past years, now is the time to sacrifice and do whats right. It may not be easy but we brought this on ourselves, we did by re-electing Mitchel again and again.

yes littleboy, you ask the question before, how can he create jobs.well my bro.,that is what he was elected to do and what he promised to do.he knew the economic situation and he knew the books.i will not defend someone who wilfully makes promises they can't keep.and my bro.,the grenadian people will make that decision about what's best for them.you don't have to agree with my postings neither do i expect you to.we have been debating here long enough.i give my two cents so that the rest of the gc visitors could make their own decisions as to what is important for them.you can say all the nice things you want about the prime minister.at the end of the day the man/woman on the street will decide whom is better to take the country forward.and my bro.gabe,i know your style.at any time, feel free to tell me about the progress the ndc government has done while in office.you can also help him too littleboy.

I have to interject here, it seems that some of us are lost in 'political love' and need a brain check. I am grenadian and I have respect for the OFFICE of Prime Minister. Whoever is in that role should be respected. POINT BLANK. These comments are no disrespect to Tillman Thomas, they are FACTUAL. Put aside your 'blind love' for a second and THINK!!! The country is WORSE, WORSE, WORSE off that it was when the NNP left the administration. Grenaddians voted in Tillman Thomas which INCLUDED all his 15 ministers. You were not duped or blindfolded. YOU SAW AND LISTENED TO THEM ALL AND VOTED. Now you are in year 4 of a five year term (who knows?).This is not time to be blaming Keith Mitchel, he should be thanked! If he didn't care enough he wouldn't bother bringing to light (to the grenadian people) the atrocities that are taking place in this NDC administration. The party conflict is just the tip of the iceberg. That is just the side effect of deep seated garbage taking place behind closed doors. Tillman has NO CONTROL over subordinates. It was time before that became manifested, now it has. Are you telling me that you feel confident in placing the future of our country in the hands of such 'wuss-like' behaviour?? It's embarassing and frankly insulting to the grenadian people. Is this the kind of character you want representing you on the international scene before investors/stakeholders making hard negotiations?? No wonder nothing worthwhile is happening?? HE LACKS BASIC SKILLS!! COME ON PEOPLE. That's not a puch as him, he is who he is. He is just not fit to be the Prime Minister. You ask for new blood and new faces to surround him? Well, I'll be the first to predict: if Grenadians decide to vote him in again, it might most likely be a revolution. The hiring of a couple from the 17 is only a start. OPEN YOUR EYES. SOMETHING IS BREWING. There's much more happening under the sheets. I will say no more. This should trigger your thoughts a bit. Until next time...

Stallion, I asked you once before, if you were the Prime Minister how would you create jobs, and you never ever replied. This is the Littleboy here. Gabe is correct in all his points and I need not repeat them. Gabe I have to congratulate you this morning brother, you hit the nail on the head, and I could not have said it better, which is also exactly what I would have said so I need not reply. But Stallion and Listen could vote for Keith Mitchel and deal with those morons if they wish. I want Grenada to move ahead so my vote id going to Tillman Thomas anyway. He is honest, he has what it takes. Tillman couldn't do anything without the support of the traitors, and as far as proscuting, Gabe is correct, its the job of the courts and those stupid judges, not Tillman.
