IMPORT LICENSE GOES DIGITAL
This is the final week for issuance of paper copies of import licenses by the Ministry of the Environment, Foreign Trade and Export Development at the Financial Complex on the Carenage. A new automated procedure, geared towards improving Customs operation, enhancing trade facilitation, and supporting increased economic activity in the country, will be introduced on December 3. Therefore, all import or export licence applications for goods must be applied for using the Licence Module of the ASYCUDA World System that utilizes the Direct Trader Input (DTI) method. The Ministry of Environment, Foreign Trade and Export Development and the Customs and Excise Divison, notified the public of the change more than a month ago. Since the paper copies will no longer be accepted, traders are asked to ensure that their computers to be used to complete and submit Licence applications, meet the requirements set forth in the registration forms. They are required to visit the Customs website at www.asycuda.customs.gov.gd to access the module. Manuals for the licensing module are available under Media- Manuals & Forms Downloads on the website. Traders who have received training in the use of the system are being encouraged to reacquaint themselves with the information, to ensure that when the module is launched every user is able to successfully use it for the smooth clearance of goods. It is anticipated that during the implementation phase minor delays may occur. The Division of Trade and the Customs Department are soliciting the patience and understanding of the trading community as the process gets underway. The divisions have promised that their officers (Trade and Customs IT Unit) will be available to answer all questions and deal with any difficulties which may arise during the launch of the new system. Hi Margaret, I had a look at your website. I like it a lot. Do you know about Chris Cudgoe's fbocaeok group page called Grenada and the Southern Grenadines'. It's very interesting. Re- your request. That sounds fine. What sort of an article are you looking for? Do you want me to write something? Use of an image will be fine. I just ask you to acknowledge the photographer and, as you say, link it to the Carriacou1968 blog. Thanks for getting in touch. I shall look forward to hearing from you again.CheersBill
