GRENADA SYMPATHISES WITH THE UNITED STATES
Grenada’s Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas has expressed his “deep sadness” with the Government and People of the United States in the aftermath of recent violence which led to the death of 26 persons, including children. The statement was sent to U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday. The following is the text of the statement. “It was with great sorrow that I learnt of the senseless violence of December 14, 2012, that led to the loss of twenty-six lives in Newton, Connecticut. Mr. President, I am truly saddened to see that among those to perish were twenty children, all at the beginning of their young lives, together with the dedicated educators who selflessly made the ultimate sacrifice to protect their students. Today, as the United States of America mourns, please be assured that the thoughts and prayers of the Grenadian people are with you, We especially pray for the families directly touched by this tragedy. Mr. President, on behalf of the Government and people of Grenada, please accept my heartfelt condolences.” Source: Government of Grenada
