ST.ANDREW FAMILIES TO BENEFIT FROM NEW HOUSING PROJECT
Almost 20 families in Cadrona, St. Andrew will soon benefit from a government funded housing project. Government has also undertaken the construction of a one-mile access road to the emerging village fondly referred to as Tablet. A government delegation led by Prime Minister Tillman Thomas last Friday visited the housing and road project, which entails the construction of single and two bedroom units. Member of Parliament for the area Hon. Alleyne Walker said the land, material and labour for the project were provided directly by government. Construction of 600 feet of road is undertaken by community development programme. “It is one of government’s most comprehensive community projects, having provided the land, material, labor and access road,” Parliamentary Representative Alleyne Walker said. Prime Minister Thomas expressed his delight at the project which will provide much needed assistance to several families in the area. “It is something quite positive because it will improve the lives of residents and we are delighted that we are providing facilities for communities, including access,” Prime Minister Thomas said following a tour of the area. The entire Project is estimated at over EC $200,000.00. Source: Government of Grenada
