WINDIES NAME TEST SQUAD  
KINGSTON, Jamaica: West Indian cricket selectors handed fast bowler Dwight Washington his first call up in a 16-man squad announced Sunday to tarin for the first cricket test against England from March 11. Washington who could not find his way into the Jamaica team played for the West Indies B during the season and impressed many with his ability to bowl one side of the wicket. The squad which will assembly in Jamaica later this week also sees recalls for prolific Grenadian opener Devon Smith and middle order batsman Ryan Hinds, as well as fast bowler Tino Best. Ricardo Powell who has been exclusively favored for one-day matches is also in the squad. There is no place for batsman Daren Ganga and fast bowlers Vasbert Drakes and Mervyn Dillon all of whom featured in the last test last month against South Africa. The camp, which will be held in Jamaica, starts on Thursday, March 4 and will be reduced to 13 members on Monday, March 8, 2004. Brian Lara (Captain), Carlton Baugh Jr., Tino Best, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Corey Collymore, Fidel Edwards, Chris Gayle, Ryan Hinds, Ridley Jacobs, Dave Mohammed, Ricardo Powell, Adam Sanford, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Devon Smith, Dwayne Smith and Dwight Washington.
