GRENADIANS LAUDED FOR COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTIONS IN LONDON...  
Four Grenadians residing in Britain were among seventy persons of African Caribbean descent who received certificates in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the Community. The Event was hosted by ‘The Experience Corps’, on March 16, 2004 at Portcullis House in London and addressed by The Right Honourable Paul Boateng, MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury. ‘The Experience Corps’ is an independent, non-profit-making company and strives to show that the life experience gained by all people aged 50 and over, can be of enormous value to society. The event was held to officially recognize and celebrate the volunteering tradition that is at the heart of the African Caribbean community in the United Kingdom. Those receiving awards from the Grenadian Community were: Ms. Cheryl Carol Joseph Mr. Allister Francis, MBE Mr. Cornelius Joseph Mr. Frank Wellington In congratulating the volunteers following the ceremony, High Commissioner Ruth Rouse said the four Grenadians were all deserving of the recognition, as they had, for many years, given wholeheartedly of their time and skill in supporting activities in the Grenadian and wider Caribbean Community. ‘The Experience Corps’ is seeking to make a difference in the Community by incorporating education, cultural and social programmes in schools and institutions across the U.K. SOURCE: High Commission for Grenada, London
