GRENADA RECOMMITS TO ONE CHINA POLICY
Grenada has restated its commitment to the One China policy, while assuring the new resident Ambassador Dr. Zhao Yongchen that this country stands ready to continue working with China. That was a commitment extended from Hon. Gregory Bowen in his capacity as acting Prime Minister, during a welcome ceremony for the new Ambassador recently. Grenada and China re-established diplomatic relations in 2005, and Mr. Bowen says their strengthening relationship relies on mutual regard and respect for the political, cultural and developmental interests of both countries. “This co-operation between our countries has transcended projects , our people to people interactions is at an all time high and we thanked ambassador Zhao and the people republic of china for also holding this people relationship as a highest form of cooperation”, said Minister Bowen. He further point out that “Mention must be made of the number of Grenadians that have been afforded the opportunity to pursue the graduate and post graduate studies in China through the Chinese Government Programme as well as the hundred of Grenadians who have participated in short term training”. Ambassador Zhao says the reception he has received demonstrates the special relationship shared between both countries. He is pleased with the growth of bilateral relations between both countries since diplomatic relations were established. “We are confident that by working together we can suddenly build what has been achieved” said Ambassador Zhao. GRENADA RECOMMITS TO ONE CHINA POLICY
Titled as Grenada one China Policy ,one is bound to ask as to what are the real motives behind the PRC involment in these countries and why the Government of the PRC is so involved in many of these third world countries who is becoming more and more dependant on the Chinese government assistance (AID) is it because of the weight (VOTE) that these third world countries brings to the table at the UN and is the PRC rapidly becoming our new day colonial masters taking over from where the British have left off. Just saying.
