CENTURION CELEBRATES WITH PM MITCHELL |
In the presence of well wishers, neighbours and five generations of her family, centurion Ethel Taylor welcomed Prime Minister Keith Mitchell to her 100th birthday party at her home in Jean Anglais on March 31, 2004.
“I feel glad and proud,” she told the Prime Minister, who presented her with a bouquet of anthurium lilies and a monetary gift, and helped cut her birthday cake.
When the cork on the bottle of Champagne popped and the Prime Minister led the toast, the sprightly Ethel responded by saying: “I don’t drink, but I am today.”
