TEEN CHARGED WITH MURDER OF 9-YEAR-OLD IN GRENADA
A teenager has been charged with capital murder following the discovery of the body of a 9-year-old who was missing for close to 72 hours in Grenada. According to the police, the 17-year-old is scheduled to appear St George’s Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday where it’s expected that he will be remanded. The police say the teenager has a previous criminal record. Meanwhile, the death of the 9-year-old student–Ariel Bhola–who would have celebrated her 10th birthday in December, brings to 12 the number of homicides so far this year. Her death has led to mounting calls for the state to approve the necessary legislation to establish a sex offender’s registry. On Tuesday during the weekly Cabinet briefings, Acting Social Development Minister Nikolas Steele said that he is in support of such a registry. Steele said the Child Protection Authority will be provided with the additional resources as the Government looks towards establishing a registry of sex offenders. Source: St. Lucia News

This is such a sad situation. I've said it before, and the last time and again and again. We need to go back to hanging or the lethal injection. Hello to Gabe, it has been a while.

Welcome back brother and although i know that you were not far away it is good that Littleboy is back as to your demand or suggestion of the death penalty for these murderous and abusive crimes against our women and young children i take a different view and it is that our law makers should review the sentences to suit the crimes and that the lowest tariff should be 15 years with no parole, and life with a ten years parole review when life is giveni say so because there is now a trend of serious sexual abusive culture taking place in Grenada which also involves people of high position in our society and in some cases money talks and our law makers should take steps to see that Grenada dont become another Jamaica or Trinidad where such crime is concern.
