LONDON GROUP TO DONATE COMPUTERS TO SCHOOLS IN GRENADA
A number of schools in Grenada will soon be receiving computers to aid in their educational development process. This was announced on Saturday March 27, at the launch of Rain & Shine, a newly established Grenadian Community Group established to consolidate links between Grenada and the United Kingdom. The group, which is chaired by Ms. Elizabeth Flanders, has established contact with the Ministry of Education in Grenada and will engage in a partnership programme to meet some of the more pressing needs of the education system. One of the first projects of Rain & Shine will be to raise funds for the provision of computers and educational software for schools in Grenada. High Commissioner Ruth Rouse, in addressing the launch, commended the Chair and Executive members for this initiative, which will benefit Grenada in the future. The High Commissioner said that education is one of the most important pillars of the economy and the education of our young people cannot be taken for granted. Also speaking at the launch was Mr. Trevor Gordon, Education Management Consultant who extended congratulations to the group and highly commended the education system in Grenada and the Caribbean.
