The Ministry of Health refutes claims by a local media outfit that an inmate at Her Majesty's Prison has tested positive for COVID-19. The Ministry confirms that currently, there are no COVID-19 positive inmates or prison officials. This false reporting has caused widespread concern and is very distracting to the crucial work of testing, contact tracing, quarantining, and enforcement, in which health officials and officers of the Royal Grenada Police Force are currently engaged. The public is reminded that the Ministry of Health is the only official source for COVID-19 updates in Grenada. Media companies and citizens, in general, are again advised to refrain from publishing unverified and misleading statements, which can cause unnecessary fear and panic.
