In a letter sent to Grenada’s Finance Minister, Hon. Nazim Burk, the Export-Import Bank of the Republic of China on Taiwan has demanded immediate repayment of approximately US$25 Million loan given to the Grenada Government under previous administrations.
The loans contracted by the Grenada Government were spread out over an 11 year period: US$10 M in 1990, US$8 M in 1997 and US$10 M in 2001. Two separate loans were secured in 1997 (US$2 M and US$6 M).
The Export-Import Bank signaled its strong intentions to move ahead very aggressively towards enforcing the judgment against Grenada (obtained in March 2007) within the United States and throughout the world following the failure of the Grenada Government to service the loans.
Grenada at one time had cordial diplomatic relations with Taiwan but the relationship was seriously strained in later years and was finally severed in 2005 after which Grenada re-established diplomatic relations with the Peoples’ Republic of China (PRC).
The Grenada Government is believed to be presently seeking the expert services of a legal consul in New York to assist the country in dealing with this current legal and financial quagmire.
The current national debt is believed to be somewhere in the region of 2 billion dollars and with the Grenadian economy reeling from the effects of a global economic recession, the obvious demands on the present administration to meet the country’s financial commitments and obligations to all parties concerned will no doubt continue to pose serious challenges for the Tillman Thomas led National Democratic Congress.

Gabe, well boy if hangman becomes the leader of NNP, all the white folks in Gda may be in deep deep trouble as we all see he does not care for whites. He thinks they are all against us and wants to steal everything from us. Now do you see why we are in so much trouble. Gabe we need good, strong motivated people who are honest and has Grenada first as they interest. Mr. Bhola smart too. E getting out in good time before things go wrong. U know Gabe all this money that Mitchel spent on that stupid stadium that standing empty and Grenada has to pay all for could have built a good modern hospital with critical care for all Grenadians,which could have been an extension where the students at the medical school could learn possibly about tropical diseases, and pass the help to our own people and learned about diseases from the people at the same time. Mitchel could have done something with the University to work with the hospitals at home, but he was such a schemer,scamp and a dam crook, he never really cared about anyone but himself and his friends. I sincerely hope and wish he goes to jail.

Mr Littleboy i man dey ya me na go no way- now on a more serious note please tell that brother of ours the Hangman to stay cool,that man seems to get to excited,and oh by the way i hear he has applied for the post of the leader of the NNP because there is talk that brother keith is not coming back from his tour of America so now the opposition is looking for a leader because i also hear that Mr Bola is thinking of jumping ship as well because that litle boy from grenville you know him the NNP mouth piece is stealing all the head lines .

Hangman, I hear you but as usual do not understand you.Grenada was under whites, now we are ruled by people of color. Were we better then or now? People of color are getting ahead. It could be faster, but it takes time. If we as West Indians have what it takes to rule, why then are we in this situation now. Look at the heading at the top of the page. I guess Mitchel tried to steal that $25 US million too. I'm sure a large chunk of that went to his pocket book. It was our elected leaders/Gairy who destroyed our neuclus/the estates, our best assets. We came and met cocoa, banannas,indigo,cocoanut spice,sugarcane. The white man planted them. They were all cultivated before we were here. Now we are the rulers, where are they now? Why have all these assets disappeared? I cant worry about the American Indian and what happened years ago .I have to remember now to move life ahead.Good education are what these leaders are about, but most of them are educated fools who only lead Grenada astray. This is why we have nothing to export and all to import. U right Japan eh have shit,but u know what, they work hard as hell while Grenadians hardly work.(smile) Dey doe want to wok boy. We beg for grants and handouts from other countries only to have our leaders steal them. We murder and kill only to have our own judges impose 4 year sentences. There is no leadership. I will look at the art of war, but I know war is hell. Have you ever been in a war. I have. Its no joke. We need people, not blacks,but a mix of different races who will have Grenada and only Grenada as their best interest.
