TAIWANESE BANK DEMANDS REPAYMENT OF US$25 MILLION LOAN

In a letter sent to Grenada’s Finance Minister, Hon. Nazim Burk, the Export-Import Bank of the Republic of China on Taiwan has demanded immediate repayment of approximately US$25 Million loan given to the Grenada Government under previous administrations.
The loans contracted by the Grenada Government were spread out over an 11 year period: US$10 M in 1990, US$8 M in 1997 and US$10 M in 2001. Two separate loans were secured in 1997 (US$2 M and US$6 M).
The Export-Import Bank signaled its strong intentions to move ahead very aggressively towards enforcing the judgment against Grenada (obtained in March 2007) within the United States and throughout the world following the failure of the Grenada Government to service the loans.
Grenada at one time had cordial diplomatic relations with Taiwan but the relationship was seriously strained in later years and was finally severed in 2005 after which Grenada re-established diplomatic relations with the Peoples’ Republic of China (PRC).
The Grenada Government is believed to be presently seeking the expert services of a legal consul in New York to assist the country in dealing with this current legal and financial quagmire.
The current national debt is believed to be somewhere in the region of 2 billion dollars and with the Grenadian economy reeling from the effects of a global economic recession, the obvious demands on the present administration to meet the country’s financial commitments and obligations to all parties concerned will no doubt continue to pose serious challenges for the Tillman Thomas led National Democratic Congress.

Gabe, Hangman, you have to understand. Black people cant rule. Look at Gairy. Hes started out ok but turned out to be a crook, Bishop took over by force and was locking up his own people, his own counterpart Unison Whiteman was putting his own people in jail and feeding them blugger in the jail. They jailed people with no trial. Bishop got what he deserved. Mitchel the Gorilla tief more than anybody else from Grenada, from other goverments who gave to Grenada and out us into the biggest debt in the Caribbean. When outsiders see Grenada, they see thieves, schemers, vagrants, politicians with corrupt minds. We can done pay dat back. Taiwan may have to take a good piece of real estate that belongs to Grenada along with Keith property in the US and Barbados probably in his wife's name. They should take Mitchel's testicles too. Tillman inherited a sad situation that cant and will not get better. D'ont depend on Obama. He is taxing the hell out of all Americans and bailing out the companies who ripped off the Americans. Black folks just aint got it. They cant rule. They could party, make noise jump up and dirty the streets. We need other races Indians, White, Canadians or mixed races in Grenada. We need people who will invest in Grenada for Grenada and not their pocket books. Grenada is in a sad situation.

THE PREVIOUS GOVERNMENT SCREWED UP IN THE PAST YES,BUT IF YOU GUYS WERE FAIR MINDED YOU WILL GIVE PRAISED TOO.I READ MOST OF YOU GUYS HAVE WRITTEN AND IT IS A LOT OF NEGATIVE VIBES.I WILL NEVER BACK ANY OF THESE PARTIES,BECAUSE HISTORY REMINDS ME THAT SOMEONE HAS TO BE VIGILANT AND I AM THE ONE.I WILL GIVE PRAISE WHEN DUE AND BLAST WHEN NECESSARY.FOR ANY PROGRESS TO START HERE WE HAVE TO EXPORT MORE THAN WHAT WE IMPORT,THAT IS THE CHALLENGE TO OUR COUNTRY.WE ARE TO DEPENDANT,AGAIN THESE IS INSTILL IN OUR MENTAL STATE FROM SLAVERY.WE ARE A BLESSED NATION AND HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO SURVIVE HERE,LET US MOVE FORWARD AND BETTER OUR CONDITION.

Mr Littleboy i do agree with you on the subject of confiscating the assets of some members of the last government in particular thoes whoes hands were in the cookie jar, but as we know in grenada and in particular some carribean islands these sort of wrongdoing is for to often becoming the norm with some of these government for example see what happened in Trinidad with Panda and his lot, yes this is a difficult call,on the other hand i ,and i am sure a lot of our people do believe that the time has come as a people and government, we need to have all these dealings with the previous government and the Taiwanese banks and others who had dealings in grenada throughly investigated and if any charge is found they should be prosecuted and made to repay some of the debt/monies owed to these lenders.

This is quite simple. We need to CONFISCATE the total properities of the last goverment and sell them all including Keith Mitchell's property in the US along with his testicles and the proceeds should be handed over to Taiwanese goverment.

Mr Hangman it is good to have you back ,but as much as i would agree with some of your coments, you fail to mention the behaviour of the previous NNP administration and as our people can now TESTIFY that previous government was the ones who was bending over backwards to please every TOM,DICK,and HARRY (FOREIGN DOLLAR BANKERS) and dogdy countries who says that we will lend you dollars as long as you give us a piece of the action and your country and behold once that is done they got you , and my friend the previous government was quite noted for that sort of behaviour and i hope to god that this NDC government take note, yes you are quite right about the fact that we sometimes find our self as small nations at the deck and call of the bigger boys ,especially thoes who come and promise you the earth and once they do and you take their dollars you are then forever beholded to them see our countrys current balance of payement,so mr Tillman and the NDC you have been warned grenada cannot afford to run IN the same way that the previous NNP ran our country we need to transparent in all our dealings with foreign countries especially thoes who promise the earth,because in this game no one gives you nothing for nothing for .
