MINISTER REITERATES GRENADA AN “EXTREMELY SAFE’’ TOURIS...
St. George’s, December 31, 2011 – Tourism Minister Peter David has said that Grenada remains an “extremely safe destination’’ for visitors, adding that government intends to keep it that way. He made the comment in response to questions about the potential impact on tourism of the death of Oscar Bartholomew. The 39-year-old Grenadian, who resided in Canada and was visiting his homeland with his Canadian-born wife, died at the General Hospital where he was taken following an altercation with officers at the St. David’s Police Station. Officers of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Royal Grenada Police Force, who are conducting a probe into the Boxing Day incident in St. David, have so far charged two policemen with manslaughter in connection with Bartholomew’s death. “This is a tragedy on all counts, especially for the Bartholomew family,’’ said Mr. David, who is also Minister of Civil Aviation and Culture. “Like all Grenadians, including all my colleagues in government, we would have preferred this not to have happened to anyone, particularly to a national who was visiting with his wife,’’ the minister added. “But from the perspective of visitor safety, and in comparison to other tourist-dependent nations of the world, Grenada still is – and will continue to be – an extremely safe destination for travelers from around the world.’’ The Bartholomews’ legal representative in Grenada is lawyer Derick Sylvester. He said Bartholomew’s mother and his wife, Dolette, had expressed interest in meeting with government representatives. The lawyer said he was successful on Friday in setting up a meeting with Minister David, who talked with Bartholomew’s mother and wife. Mr. David conveyed his sympathies to the couple and their families, and again extended government’s condolences that were first expressed earlier in the week by Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas. For Sylvester, having the Minister David meet with the two grieving Bartholomew family members was “a step in the right direction.’’

Karen I cannot understand why they have not taken her in as yet. This is so strange and some of these lousy Grenadians are so complacent with this slave mentality, they are just willing to sit down and take what they get as the status quo and let things be as it always were. That ugly heffer should be sitting her backside in jail right now where she belongs. These people who were allowed on the police force to be police officers without any education and simple common sense needs to go. And idiot Peter David keeps saying Grenada is safer now than it has ever been. Can you believe this? Canada needs to stop giving assistance to Grenada until they can show they can act like human beings. Look at what happened with the visa situation because of that Keith Mitchel. I do hope Canada takes good care of this situation and do likewise. Too many murders are taking place especially in Grenada. Too much hostility towards Grenadians by the police. Look at all the others that were killed by Coard and Bishop. Grenada spent all this money they did not even have, paid all these Judges in American currency to uphold laws and then to be told by the Englishman that these people were not to be hung and should be freed. Why do we even have a court system here? This is s real joke. Someone comits murder and get 4 years in Jail by Tamara Gill. I have never heard of this. What the hell does England do for us? And to my disgust, I see Gabe is happy with all of this. Gabe man sometimes I wonder what you are made of. I say we need to go back to hanging and rid the world and society of these no good devils. Sometimes some people are just simply no dam good and were born that wat.

Littleboy, watch this: I have the gut feeling that the female RGPF officer may have been romantically involved with one of the officers who mercilessly murdered Oscar. My theories are as follow:

Gabe now you see why I left. These things do not happen here in St. Kitts. Here it is almost like Grenada used to be about 40 years ago, and the people are just beautiful, we have no Cannibals here like you have in Grenada. Now I think the police woman, that devil and evil heathenite who started and caused all this mess should also be investigated and brought to swift justice. Some of us would like to know why she instigated this catastrophe and how was she threatened in big broad daylight while this man's wife was using the toilet facilities. I think she was a liar and had her own motive and intent. I don't know why they are taking so long before arresting her too. She should be on unpaid leave of absense pending full investigation.

Let be said that the death of this grenadian /canadian resident who was on a visit to his home land and was met with this tragic loosing of his life while under the control of the RGPF in that police station should not be allowed to go uncheck without a full investigation instigated by this government and in particular the man who is the head of our government yes the prime minister and secondly the COP with the AG in full support and thoes responsible including the man in charge at the said police station where this incident accured and when such investigation is concluderd thoes responsible should be bought to justice, yes the message has to be told that no one in our country in above the law and this includes law inforcers( RGPF OFFICERS) should abide by the law,and if these officers were found to be acting outside the law they should and must be bought to justice,so bro tilly the world is waiting and watching yes we are all waiting.
