PRIME MINISTER CALLS FOR A CHANGE IN THE IMAGE OF POLIT...
Grenadian politicians must work to change the image of politics in the country. Prime Minister Tillman Thomas made the call on Sunday, at the Grenville Car-park in St. Andrew, as he addressed a thanksgiving rally, which celebrated his government’s victory over a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister, by the Opposition Leader. “When politicians do not live up to high standards, the people become skeptical and come to distrust politics and politicians. There should never be one standard for the politicians and a different one for the rest of society. Politics should not be viewed as a bad thing. As leaders, we should strive to change this perception,” the Prime Minister told an enthusiastic and emotional audience. The Grenadian leader said his government will continue to work toward reducing corruption, respecting the rule of law, practice good governance, be inclusive, protect the environment and heritage of Grenada and restore Grenada’s integrity. “Together, we must continue to build a decent society in which governance is characterized by integrity, where the interest of our people is paramount. But as Prime Minister, I am held accountable for the performance of my Government. Therefore, I am obligated to act. I took an Oath and I am not going to betray my people's mandate,” the Prime Minister said. In commenting on Grenada’s relations with the international community, the Prime Minister, who is also Grenada’s Minister for Foreign Affairs said that the country has the scars to show for “flirting with a certain ideology”. “I am convinced that Grenada's Foreign Policy must be based on common sense and the promotion of our national interest. We have a unique history and have paid a massive price for flirting with a certain ideology in the past. Our Grenadian people are now more aware and will not be led down the wrong road.” “We will promote relations that are in Grenada’s best interest. That, for me , is a sensible and responsible Foreign Policy,” he added. The Grenadian leader committed to promoting and protecting the shared interest within the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States and CARICOM and to seek to develop and strengthen bilateral ties with the countries of Latin America.

Stallion I see that you have some common sense.Where out of the TATTERS of the NDC, a new Vibrant System of NNP Politician will emerge. This Augurs well for Politics and New leadership in Grenada where a Group of men Politically DOTISH are Unwittingly Holding Grenada Ransom by insisting on remaining in Office Long after their INCOMPETENCE Expired. Wait for my next two ARTICLES to see.

Stallion, you know thats what I have always said and now you see why? I do hope when Tillman bring new people into the party, they are young fresh honest blood. I think carefully selected young responsible people can do a better job than idiots like Gilbert, Peter David, Church and the fool Pastor from St. Georges.

Stallion if you do not think there is enough transparency and accountability, my brother at the next election, you can voice your opinion with your vote. The choice is yours. What can I say? It's entirely up to you and I won't be against you in any way on what decision you have made. We do have our choices. You have to go with whom you feel you are most comfortable with. I have searched all over and within myself and I prefer Tillman more than the others based on what we have now in Gda.

littleboy,it seems that you are making excuses for the prime minister.i didn't say that he should tell the public about the money.i said he should have told his party.tillman needs to put the matter to a rest by telling us when he received the funds.too much questions here my friend.the longer this thing drags the worst he looks in the public eye.remember what he said,TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTABILITY.

Stallion and Gabe, I don't think Tillman Thomas even knew about that money until maybe later. He is the Prime Minister and has a lot of more important things going on. It's possible the finance person received the money and placed it in the account only to inform the Prime Minister at a later time, and he the Prime Minister is not at all required to tell us the public if or when someone donates something to and for the NDC. Like I also said many of us may have given donations to the NDC party for the party only, and nothing was announced, and thats ok because its nobody's business but the NDC party. Now if those funds were donated for a specific project, that's a different story. How many times has Keith Mitchel ever announced he received money? and the dirty liar just tried to turn the tables around with his Saudie Arabia story. As for Pastor Garraway, I won't even listen to that clown. Its just a waste of time. HE can't do anything for GRenada. Ask him what has he done in the past for Grenada? Ask him what has he contributed that directly helped Grenada?
