PRIME MINISTER CALLS FOR A CHANGE IN THE IMAGE OF POLIT...
Grenadian politicians must work to change the image of politics in the country. Prime Minister Tillman Thomas made the call on Sunday, at the Grenville Car-park in St. Andrew, as he addressed a thanksgiving rally, which celebrated his government’s victory over a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister, by the Opposition Leader. “When politicians do not live up to high standards, the people become skeptical and come to distrust politics and politicians. There should never be one standard for the politicians and a different one for the rest of society. Politics should not be viewed as a bad thing. As leaders, we should strive to change this perception,” the Prime Minister told an enthusiastic and emotional audience. The Grenadian leader said his government will continue to work toward reducing corruption, respecting the rule of law, practice good governance, be inclusive, protect the environment and heritage of Grenada and restore Grenada’s integrity. “Together, we must continue to build a decent society in which governance is characterized by integrity, where the interest of our people is paramount. But as Prime Minister, I am held accountable for the performance of my Government. Therefore, I am obligated to act. I took an Oath and I am not going to betray my people's mandate,” the Prime Minister said. In commenting on Grenada’s relations with the international community, the Prime Minister, who is also Grenada’s Minister for Foreign Affairs said that the country has the scars to show for “flirting with a certain ideology”. “I am convinced that Grenada's Foreign Policy must be based on common sense and the promotion of our national interest. We have a unique history and have paid a massive price for flirting with a certain ideology in the past. Our Grenadian people are now more aware and will not be led down the wrong road.” “We will promote relations that are in Grenada’s best interest. That, for me , is a sensible and responsible Foreign Policy,” he added. The Grenadian leader committed to promoting and protecting the shared interest within the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States and CARICOM and to seek to develop and strengthen bilateral ties with the countries of Latin America.

I think Stallion needs to stop talking nonsense. Anyone can make accusations. Do you have any proof what is being said of Tillman Thomas has any truth to it? I'm speaking about EVIDENCE my friend and not hearsay. I think we have to watch Mitchel from his past history alone and what he has done to Grenada. I also do not trust Peter David. He is too much in himself, we want good governance and people who are putting GRENADA FIRST, u hear me GRENADA FIRST and not power, greed, or their own personal goals or agenda.

Hey Gabe, greetings. There is an impostor using my name but how long and how low will the NDC go for and stoop to deceive and character assassinate their opponents. I will not be perturb with their deception the truth will be reveal very shortly. And for you Gabe don't hold your breath on this facade of integrity and honesty. Look at this information,if you have a weak heart don't read it. Presentation for a Press Conference on Tuesday May 29, 2012 Presenter: Pastor Winston Garraway Prime Minister Tillman Thomas was elected into office on a ticket of honesty, very high morals and Christian principles and values that many accepted for he proclaimed he was called by God. While its not my place to doubt his honesty, the events in the news these last few days have brought me to this place where I must say I am confused with the Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas responses to the allegation surrounding the financial contribution from Saudi Arabia. When the PM promised the people that his government will be transparent, accountable and “I will deal with the people in an open way,” we all expected just that nothing more, nothing less. And you will agree with me this is not too much to desire or ask for. After the former PM Dr Keith Mitchell, announce in the Parliament of the financial transaction from Saudi Arabia, the Government did not move much, however when Dr Mitchell made a second call for the FIU to investigate the matter, that’s when it seems that the media took the story up with more seriousness, that’s when PM Thomas decided to respond. His first interview with MTV he denied receiving money from Saudi Arabia: “I have not received any money from Saudi Arabia myself, am not aware of any money being received from Saudi Arabia. I believed this is for mischief. The NNP has been tainted with wrong doing, so they want to bring all politicians within that category. I think that is what they want to do, they trying to confuse the Grenadian people to make it appear that all politicians are involved in wrong doing but I don’t think that will succeed.” In an interview with the GIS on Friday, PM Thomas spoke in language that was far from the promise to deal with the people in an open way. While answering the questions of the host Mr. Ray Roberts, the PM was very evasive, deliberate and deceptive with his responses. Lets follow the interview verbatim: Host Ray Roberts: Let’s go back now to an accusation that has been thrown at you of 150,000, is this baseless? PM Thomas: Well people make accusation from time to time. Any political organization would get contribution. All the transaction that I have done are above board. Any transaction is done legitimately through a banking institution. There is nothing to hide. Host Ray Roberts So there is no red flag? PM Thomas Yea there is no red flag. Host Ray Roberts So your party is not the first party to receive any contribution? PM Thomas That is normal, the difference mybe yea, what, a contribution came through a banking institution, I see nothing wrong. With that if somebody makes a contribution I see nothing …. Once it come through a legitimate source and it’s for the use of the … that’s part of the democratic process. If somebody wants to make a contribution to a political organization and make it through an individual within the organization, a trustworthy individual, I see nothing wrong with that. Host Ray Roberts So this is one thing, you are clean? PM Thomas Yea I have nothing to worry about that. Host Ray Roberts Whatever information would be I suppose you will make it available if they ask you to? PM Thomas Yes if they ask for information it would be made available at anytime.

Hey impostor. You can post under my name as long as you may but be assured that the "Fire of the Holy Spirit" will catch up with you in due season. Take this other release. The Saudi Fiasco - Another Damaging Revelation For The Wreckers‏ Posted By winston garraway (Pastor Garraway)On Friday 25 May, 2012, 11:23 pm Page Views: 769News Image Opposition Leader Dr Keith Mitchell is calling for a police investigation into what he alleges is a suspicious Saudi Arabian money transfer to a “top government minister”. Last Sunday, while beleaguered Prime Minister Tillman Thomas was in rural St Andrew in the east of the island, thanking supporters and celebrating his survival in an opposition-led no-confidence motion, the opposition leader was on the west coast, telling a political meeting that Thomas knows which of his ministers is involved in the alleged scandal. Mitchell claims he has evidence that US$150,000 was wired from Saudi Arabia into an unnamed senior minister’s account. “I have solid information in my hands of a very top government minister who has collected in his own bank account US$ 150,000,” Mitchell asserted. He said a cheque for EC$100,000 of the money was paid to another individual whom he described as “a close political friend’’ of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). “More than that, and the prime minister knows exactly who that person is, the person wrote an EC$100,000 cheque to a close political friend in the party, and when he was asked what was that money for he said it was legal fees,” Mitchell told a rally of his New National Party (NNP) in the fishing town of Gouyave, just days after he had made the claim in Parliament. The former prime minister said Grenadian law had been broken in the alleged money transaction and he demanded that the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Royal Grenada Police Force commence inquiries. Simultaneously, he cast doubt on the crime squad’s independence. “The money came from Saudi Arabia to the Republic Bank. The FIU is supposed to be an independent body but they are politicians in there,” the opposition leader told supporters. “But we are giving them a challenge. Show your independence. Deal with … persons who have accepted that he has received that money because that is against the law of the land,” he urged. Among the functions of the Police FIU are analyses and investigations of “matters arising from suspicious transaction reports, money laundering, terrorist financing and other financial crimes’’.
