PRIME MINISTER CALLS FOR A CHANGE IN THE IMAGE OF POLIT...
Grenadian politicians must work to change the image of politics in the country. Prime Minister Tillman Thomas made the call on Sunday, at the Grenville Car-park in St. Andrew, as he addressed a thanksgiving rally, which celebrated his government’s victory over a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister, by the Opposition Leader. “When politicians do not live up to high standards, the people become skeptical and come to distrust politics and politicians. There should never be one standard for the politicians and a different one for the rest of society. Politics should not be viewed as a bad thing. As leaders, we should strive to change this perception,” the Prime Minister told an enthusiastic and emotional audience. The Grenadian leader said his government will continue to work toward reducing corruption, respecting the rule of law, practice good governance, be inclusive, protect the environment and heritage of Grenada and restore Grenada’s integrity. “Together, we must continue to build a decent society in which governance is characterized by integrity, where the interest of our people is paramount. But as Prime Minister, I am held accountable for the performance of my Government. Therefore, I am obligated to act. I took an Oath and I am not going to betray my people's mandate,” the Prime Minister said. In commenting on Grenada’s relations with the international community, the Prime Minister, who is also Grenada’s Minister for Foreign Affairs said that the country has the scars to show for “flirting with a certain ideology”. “I am convinced that Grenada's Foreign Policy must be based on common sense and the promotion of our national interest. We have a unique history and have paid a massive price for flirting with a certain ideology in the past. Our Grenadian people are now more aware and will not be led down the wrong road.” “We will promote relations that are in Grenada’s best interest. That, for me , is a sensible and responsible Foreign Policy,” he added. The Grenadian leader committed to promoting and protecting the shared interest within the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States and CARICOM and to seek to develop and strengthen bilateral ties with the countries of Latin America.

PRIME MINISTER CALLS FOR A CHANGE IN THE IMAGE OF POLIT...

This is for the one false Preacher. As for message of continuing party and Government and infighting and what it will have on the country. I say look at what Keith Mitchel's past history has caused on the country. Look at the hugh debts Grenada is now faced with. Look at the loss of jobs in Grenada now. We know some were caused by the global economy. Look at what Mitchel has done. He had no income taxes but he tore up Grenada with his import taxes which has trippled the already high cost of living. Instead of allowing everyone to pay a fair tax, he abolished taxes when the highest paid goverment ministers and all should be paying their fair share to ease the burden on the local people. How much taxes did Mitchel Ministers pay, while they made the highest salaries and got the highest perks. A country cannot function without taxes false Preacher. Go back and take econ 101 before you came here with your trash. You cannot function if there are no goods. Where is the agriculture and the nutmegs, cocoa, coffee, indigo, sugarcane that we used to import. When goods are sold and taxes are generated, then the goverment gets revenue from which services and jobs are then created for the public. Mitchel did his by begging, making loans and not paying back and now the taxpayers again have to face it because of Mitchel. Tillman is just trying to clean it up and it would take more than one term, but Mitchel does not have the kno how to do it anyway and Peter David also cannot be tructed, but even with what you call the infighting and I call cleaning up the rotten apples, we still do not want Keith Mitchel. Tillman will get it done. Ah eh worried about dat at all. Just keep up you lies False Preacher, we eh buying dat either.

Impostor this is for you. NDC PARTY AND GOVERNMENT CONTINUED INFIGHTING The New National Party is expressing great concern over the continued infighting in the ruling National Democratic Congress party and the Government, even after the attempt to present a united front to the nation in response to the recent No Confidence Motion. The NNP is saying that in spite of the decision of key openly disgruntled members of the government to put personal and party interest above the people’s interest; and in spite of the claims made by the Prime Minister, the rift continues to deepen and widen, just one week after the Motion. Officials of the NNP are expressing great concern over reports that the Prime Minister has organized a so-called Solidarity Rally against the wishes of members of the party’s executive and the Government-the reason for the concern being the impact that the message of continuing party and Government infighting will have on the country. Appearing on a popular current affairs program Monday evening, the assistant Public Relations officer of the NDC made it quite clear that the party had nothing to do with the Solidarity Rally and of such it was not their place to be. Sparking more concerns as to what next the people of the country will hear coming from the NDC. The NNP officials are saying that while they do not wish to meddle in the internal affairs of the NDC, they must take note of the fact that infighting within the Government is negatively affecting the people of the country and can, in the long run bring the operations of the state to a virtual standstill, a situation which would bring added misery to the people. The NNP wishes to take the opportunity to advise that the continuance of this kind of open infighting and public quarrelling would tie the hands of any Government, and that in the end it is the people who really suffer from the damage caused. It is calling on the Prime Minister and the relevant members of the party and Government to let good sense prevail and apply the necessary restraint in dealing with this worsening situation. It is calling on all involved to put the interest of the country and its people first in all that they do. Grenadians do not wish to be rescued from themselves again.

"Grenadian politicians must work to change the image of politics in the country." I must in did say, this is a fear call from the Prime Minister. However, he has to take responsibility for the fighting that is happening within his cabinet and the Government. He came on a ticket of "wind of change" to get rid of NNP and the so call corruption, but today all he has accused the NNP and Dr Mitchell of has come back to haunt him. The chick has come home to roost in his camp. The bible put it this way "whatsoever a man sow that shall he also reap." This is judgement on the NDC.

This is not about foreign policy, this is weak leadership by Tilman and bad politics by his advisers. The only solution is for Grenadians to ask the present speaker of the lower house to do the honorable thing by assuming leadership at the next convention .Tilman,Keith, nazim and peter all proven they are not good for Grenada.

My Fellow Grenadians it is now quite clear that the recent resignation of the so called gang of five or so ex government ministers of the NDC and the recent call for a vote of no confidence by the opposition NNP Leader, shows the real motives behind these recent resignation by these ministers and it is clear in my view that these actions was meant to destablized the ruling government by these rogues and their friends in the NNP party but democracy won in the end and the Devils fail and they will fail again come the next election because thoes decent ministers in government and our people on the street is becoming politically savvy and wise and they are now demonstrating that we wont be bought with hand outs by bullies and pirates who have shown recently that they are only in politics for their own political agenda and is hell bent on destroying our beloved country grenada, but let them be aware that our people will not stand by and allow them to take us back to the bad old days and as our motto says -IS FORWARD WE ARE MOVING -BACKWARD NEVER- one love.
