The New National Party is appealing to the Government of Grenada to strengthen the Ministry of Social services in light of the increasing crimes of passion and violence being perpetuated among partners and individuals in communities , thus resulting in murders and serious injuries to our people.
The NNP is demanding that a significant increase for social and community workers are needed , including an urgent review in the safety net program , so as to help our citizens most in need to cope with the day to day pressures of life and their inability to meet basic needs of survival.
The NNP is also demanding that the Government of Grenada provide additional support to the Royal Grenada Police Force ( RGPF) in the areas of community policing , counseling services and to provide the necessary tools and equipment for the RGPF to carry out its work effectively.
Moreover, the New National Party is extremely concerned about the continuing rise in unemployment , the continuing lack of confidence by the business sector and the general sense of hopelessness in the Government , which has been punctuated by infighting , divisions , deviousness and their inability to unite the nation.
We call on the Government to look after the needs of the people and not themselves

Bro Stallion i see that you keep calling for the return of Hanging but as these recent spate of violence has been domestic base one has to first look at the social reasons as to why such increases is taking place and again lets look at the history of domestic violence in our country because for to often some of our men folks thinks it is right to give our sisters children while spreading the same nasty habit all over our country leaving the very women to bring up the children and at the same time these men goes around boasting of how many children they have while the women is doing all she can to bring her children up and then some of these men ends up treating our sisters in such murderous ways so thats why i will agree with you re (hanging)but also we need to re-educate our people both our men folks and our women especially where domestic matters are concern and empowered them to take a more proactive role in the up bringing of their children and for both men and woman to pay more respect to each other in terms of their relationship with each other and when ever there is a dispute in the family it should not be settled on violence for the result in most cases ends with one or more persons being killed and our country is once aggain tainted with an unaccptable reputation of murderous violence against helpless victims.
