ANOTHER GOVERNMENT MINISTER RESIGNS
Environment Minister Glynis Roberts on Thursday submitted her resignation to Governor General Sir Carlyle Glean. This is the latest resignation to hit Prime Minister Tillman Thomas’s ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government since April, following those of Tourism Minister Peter David and Foreign Minister Karl Hood. In a statement accepting Roberts's resignation as environment and foreign trade minister, PM Thomas offered no reason for her decision to quit but extended best wishes to the former minister. The Prime Minister has been under pressure for weeks with a no-confidence motion tabled in Parliament against him by Hood. Earlier this week Thomas requested the Governor General to prorogue Parliament, effectively causing the motion to be dropped from Parliament's Order Paper whenever the sittings resume. Roberts previously served as Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation; Minister of Labour and Ecclesiastic Affairs and Minister of Social Development. She is Member of Parliament for the constituency of St. George South. Explaining her decision to a local journalist, Roberts reportedly said her decision wasn't influenced by any of the backbenchers in Parliament. With general elections constitutionally due in Grenada by July of next year, political observers are following these events keenly.

'Stupid brainless idiot' nice one! Were you referring to Tillman Thomas? Name calling is not helping a terribly horrible situation. Go and advise your hard-headed PM. Whether he is honest or not, he is continually proving himself to NOT be capable of the task of governing. FACE IT. I bet it hurts! But that's part of healing: first admitting what is wrong. Dr. Mitchell is a far more intelligent man should be brought back immediately. We're in a desperate situation. I'LL BE THERE TO SUPPORT THE HOUSE! And I just know you will too.

Well all dem NDCites must be SHAME, SHAME, SHAME! What is happening now was very necessary for such folks to see. This is what you get when you walk away from a good thing and have no idea what you're walking into. It was public knowledge from the start - this NDC government would self-destruct. No surprise there. We are a complete laughing stock at the moment. I am grenadian so it's just as embarassing to me. Like I said before, this was necessary to open the eyes of some. NOW, let's solve this problem: get rid of this current administration and allow capable leadership back (Dr. Mitchell) to help salvage what's left. It'll be an incredible task...much like what Obama is trying to clean up from Bush's mess. Help us Lord.

I think he is a weak speaker, however let me say I do believe he is an honest fellow, and to get things done that benefits Grenada he needs their support, which of couse he does not have. They on the other hand want their own agendas done which of course may or may not benefit Grenada. This coupled with the hugh debts that Grenada has to start paying back when there is no money, and with these high salaries that are being paid to Grenadians, one can see where all these problems are coming from. No money coming in, and more money going out much more than we have in the treasury or coming in. Remember we have no more cocoa, nutmegs, indigo, coffee or banannas and all the lands were given away so we do not have a neuclus or a money generating machine, and then Grenadian people do not want to work, especially the land. They think thats demeaning and thats slave labor. I think we should let them eat grass or eat one another stallion. What do you think?

yes bro.littleboy,i had said time and time again, the prime minister is a good man,but weak.so if that is the assessment, then why do we blame the renegades for leaving the party?the same also applies to your posting bro.gabe.you said we need a strong leader with integrity.then if that is the case,dr.keith and tillman need not apply.

Bro.Stallion i acknowledge your reply but here is once again my concern as to the real motives behind these ex -ministers who has gone to the back bence and it is this for the message that is being sent out to say the opposition is that you the opposition can or may count on us the backbenchers for support when matters such as a no vote motion in the ruling government ,so my friends i trully believe that this is what is behind the real issues /thinking of thoes backbenchers because why have they not done thr honourable thing and resign their seats and call by-elections if they they trully have no confidence in their leader and party due to current policies and why have they not come out in public and let the nation know what their real grips are with their leader instead of hiding behind the shirt tail of a disgraced opposition hoping that they the opposition might get lucky in a vote of no confidence in the ruling government thus opening the doorway for the rebel to come in and so i say to these rebels please search your minds and hearts and ask youselves in whos interest are these guys doing what they are doing and is it to forward the advancement of our country or is it based on their political ego trips for bro DAVID ,HOOD,CHURCH,GILL,and the Sister Roberts our country is much bigger than you all and what is needed at this time is a leader of trust one who can and will command the attention of the other world statemen and women, one who can be trusted to govern grenada and all its people rich and poor and deliver to us all the best that we deserved in education, health, etc and not people who is deep into their own ego trips simply to furnish the own political nests, bro stallion it is sometime said that when a problem arises in the family household it is best discussed by getting all the family round that table and trash things out not walk out and sulk because by doing so shows contempt, dis respect and disloyalty and that my friend is no different to the recent behaviour of thoes ministers /backbenchers. one love
