ANOTHER GOVERNMENT MINISTER RESIGNS
Environment Minister Glynis Roberts on Thursday submitted her resignation to Governor General Sir Carlyle Glean. This is the latest resignation to hit Prime Minister Tillman Thomas’s ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government since April, following those of Tourism Minister Peter David and Foreign Minister Karl Hood. In a statement accepting Roberts's resignation as environment and foreign trade minister, PM Thomas offered no reason for her decision to quit but extended best wishes to the former minister. The Prime Minister has been under pressure for weeks with a no-confidence motion tabled in Parliament against him by Hood. Earlier this week Thomas requested the Governor General to prorogue Parliament, effectively causing the motion to be dropped from Parliament's Order Paper whenever the sittings resume. Roberts previously served as Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation; Minister of Labour and Ecclesiastic Affairs and Minister of Social Development. She is Member of Parliament for the constituency of St. George South. Explaining her decision to a local journalist, Roberts reportedly said her decision wasn't influenced by any of the backbenchers in Parliament. With general elections constitutionally due in Grenada by July of next year, political observers are following these events keenly.

ANOTHER GOVERNMENT MINISTER RESIGNS

my bro.,tillman is the leader of the country, and may i add minister of national security.as such,he is responsible for the security of our country.whenever there are any murders in our country, especially visitors, the prime minister has to step up and take responsibility.the government does the hiring of the police force and they must hire the right people.if there is a breakdown in the force, the goverment is responsible.now you telling me that since the privy council release the criminals the government is within their right to hire these scumbags?give me a break.tell me what was the criteria to hire these guys and were other qualified grenadians given a chance to apply.so ndc decides to raise taxes and you say nnp would also have done it in a similar situation.that is pure nonsense and speculation.the prime minister could have decided not to raise taxes and look elsewhere to save money, like a pay cut from the fat cats that run goverment.tell me about the airport gabe?what was wrong with point saline international airport?do you know why bishop was building that airport?if you read the bishop/prg manifesto,it says that they were building the airport as a base so that the soviets could launch attacks against the u.s.so why should we re-name the airport to open old wounds?yes the guy from maran.it was a complete break-down from the police and government.the ones responsible should have been fired.thats why nnp lost the election among other things.too much corruption.now back to tillman,i am still waiting for you to tell me how he has improved the lives of grenadians.all i hear is integrity and a nice man.but has he created jobs and improved the economy?

Bro.Stallion this one is heavy and it seems like you coming out and that is good because you have now nailed you colours on a mask and thats democracy but lets rewind back a bit and look at some of your quotes ,in your posting it is said that Tillman is not effective enough but fail to say what you mean by he tillman not being effective ,do you mean that he dont talk down to people or not rude enough well brother if you were to ask many world leaders they will differ from your view ,again you claim that his government put up vat but again fail to say what would the opposition do had they faced with the same financial problem that was before the new incoming ndc government, and again you mention the gang of 17 and maybe it is about time grenadians were educated in the law as to how it came about that these butchers were given their freedom from life imprisonment and it had nothing to do with Tillman and his government it was the Law Lords appeal high court in london england also about the renaming of the airport now come on brother stallion what was wrong with that one only have to look around you and can you tell me and the grenadian people what crime was committed by renaming the airport in the name of our beloved bro.Bishop, now lets get on the case of our canadian brother Oscar B . who was killed some months ago by one of our RGPF officer my friend it is for the law enforcement here in grenada to deal with such crime and while it is fair game for some grenadians to play the blame game where tillman is concern why dont you also go back some years ago when the big shot from Maran had shot this guy and it took people power for the RGPF to act and if your memory is playing tricks on you that was under the reign of the Mitchell government and did you blame him for that ,also remember Mitchell ex body guard and his gun related charges again thats history, finally may i say this that here in grenada we seems to be making noise against this government simply becouse we have party political issues and not looking at the real issues facing our country as is also faced by other countries around the caribbean and the world even the develope countris like Jamaica,Spain,Greece,to mane a few yes we need to be educated here, and another thing and it is this we are shot on memory forgetting that when the NNP were in power they also had problem paying public workers salaries, so brother Stallion lets vent our anger towards some of our elected /ex-ministers/ back bench ministers because in a real democracy they are the one who is nearer to the grass roots, they are the representitives of the people they are the one who the voters should be venting their anger towards for these ministers will say one thing in parliament and when the get back to their local parishes they would run their mouth and we the voters being what we are then turn on the PM Tillman ,my peole please wake up and let us dont get sidetrack by thoes who will come to you and say i told you so and that you made a big mistake in electing Tillman and his government and that it should have been us(nnp) for we should remember that yes they gave to us some good but allow others take from us and when they left office our country was being pulled by other countries for the non-payement of loans and is this really what we want again for our country,do we really want our people to be always begging for a bread without knowing where the flour is coming from ,do we want some of these rouges traders coming back to our country promising us the earth then left ,robbing us of our hard earned savings the choice is ours yes the opposition has a track history and we wont forget. one love.

good afternoon to you all.this is a very wonderful debate.i must say that LISTEN has brought a different perspective to the table.most of what he is saying is what i have previously mentioned.tillman should have cleaned house a long time ago and not surrounded himself with those morons.as always,we all get what we pay for.for littleboy, gabe and grenada, you all seem to advocate that tillman is the right man for grenada.the fact of the matter is tillman has not done anything of substance since he took office.when you in charge, the debt belongs to you.enough excuses.as i said before, tillman is a very weak leader, not what the country needs at present.he is not the right man for the job.keith mitchell himself has alot of skeletons in the closet, but he is a far more effective leader than tillman.he has kept the prime minister off-balance since he took office.now back to gabe, littleboy and grenada, how do you justify the prime minister employing 2 of the gang of 17?how do you justify renaming the airport without first going to the people?how do you justify the increase in vat when the people of our island are suffering?how do you justify a slow response to the murders in grenada, most notably oscar bartholomew?how do you justify not paying the workers salaries?i say it is bloody time the prime minister call an election.he is not fit to be prime minister.the grenadian people have lost all faith in the ndc.we are the laughing stock of the caribbean with all the in-fighting.how can you run a country when you can't run your house?

Listen, wishful thinking.I don't think you are an economist or know the least about economics by your actions. You talk plenty tata and horsecrap, but do what you have to do. A fool's tongue is his own distruction.

Listen so you say you are an economist, and you see how Grenada is with the lack of scarce resources, and the current situation and all you can offer is Keith Mitchel, I say more power to you. I will always be ok, but lets hope you and the others will be ok too. Keep on doing what you think you doing and see how far ahead Grenada gets with Keith Mitchel. I rest my case.

Please excuse me: I am an economist. You talk about someone needing a BAIL OUT, that's your government. They 'broke to thief!' You've said it - Tillman is a 'breath of bad, bad air.' That's why the country couldn't get any lower than it is now: Grenadians like yourself only expressing a height of nonsensical rhetoric. I implore you, think before you speak.
