The congratulations were extended to His Excellency Mr. Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council on the Union’s behalf. The following is the full text of the message: Excellency, on behalf of the Government and People of Grenada, it is truly an honour for me to congratulate the European Union on being awarded the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize. This meritorious award highlights the Union’s commitment to the advancement of peace, stability, democracy and human rights, not only in Europe, but throughout the globe. Once again, Your Excellency, I congratulate the European Union on this prestigious recognition.
