Mr. Carlyle Charles, better known as Carlos, of Woolwich Road passed away peacefully on April 7th 2017 in Georgia , USA in the presence of caring family members. He was the father of Sharon , Rae, Deryck and Deborah ;grandfather of Wayne , Tarique(Riquey), Sean, Cassie, Chris , Gabby, Mariange , Elijah ;great grandfather of Jeremiah, all of the USA. He was a son of the late Beulah Charles nee Clarke and Josiah Charles. He was the brother of Reggie Charles of the USA and Roger Cox and Glena Gilbert of Grenada. He was predeceased by his beloved aunt Mrs. Winifred Hunte. He also leaves behind Raymond , Arlene ,Jarrod and Solange with whom he shared a special, affectionate bond and who are the children and grandchildren of his companion of many years, Rita Sylvester who predeceased him in 2015. Carlos' love of his family including cousins Dennis Murray, Michelle, Herbert, Michael and the rest of the Huntes and nephews, nieces, was boundless. He also leaves behind his cousins, the Jacques family of Canada and Grenada . He was previously married to Marlene Charles nee St. John, the mother of his 4 children and was father in law to Vickie, Bernard and Joslyn. He was a past president of the GBSS Ole Boys Assoc. NYC and had many friends including Miss Ann Cadore of Grand Roy, Miss Janet McBurnie of Brooklyn ,NY, Mrs. Ruby Garvey of Brooklyn, NY, Roxanne and Rihana Archibald his longtime neighbors on Woolwich Road, Walter and Yvonne St. John, Timmy Mason, the Chase brothers, Pauline St John, Greta Best, Tinky, John Hood, Neil Steele and so many others, too numerous to mention. He loved music, politics and offering a helping hand to those who needed it. He will be missed greatly. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will take place on April 14th 2017( Good Friday) from 5-11 pm at the American Legion Hall , 5601 Ave N , Brooklyn ,NY. ( bet. 55th and 56th streets)
