GRENADA MINISTER SLAMS OPPOSITION'S TAIWAN TRIP

Grenada's foreign affairs minister chided the nation's main opposition party on Tuesday for sending a delegation to Taiwan.
It was the opposition National Democratic Congress party's first trip to Taiwan since Grenada re-established ties with China early last year.
Foreign Minister Elvin Nimrod said this week's Taiwan trip, coming after a trip to China last year, was a "desperate attempt" by opposition officials to play both sides of the diplomatic fence.
Opposition spokesman Peter David confirmed that the party accepted Taiwan's offer to send a delegation to Taipei, but said that it was not an "official trip."
"Any official relations between the opposition and Taiwan is not something we advocate," he said.
