STEELE SUPPORTING THE HOUSE OF THE NNP

Tuesday 22nd March 2011: After much speculation Mr. Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Steele has been confirmed as the Team Leader of the New National Party in the Town of St. George . The young business man from a prominent St. Georges business family was introduced by Political Leader of the New National Party Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell at the party’s 25th Annual Convention at the St Andrew Anglican Secondary School on Sunday 20th March 2011.

In his brief address to the NNP delegates and observers at the closed session of the party’s convention Steele said that he was thankful to the members of the executive of the New National Party as well as the Town of St George party group for the warmth they have shown to him and the welcome that he has received. He stated that while he has been called all sorts of names in recent times he is proud to be a Grenadian though he is not proud of the path that he is seeing Grenada taking now. He said that the development and progress of Grenada has seen better greener days. He called on all proud Grenadians to come forward and stand up and be counted.

Steele was high in praises of the unchallenged leadership of the NNP stating that the party learnt its lessons after the defeat at the polls in 2008 and has since built back better and stronger than before. The young businessman also stated that if the house is to be stronger it has to have Steele in it and as such he is indeed proud to be called a proud Grenadian in the house of the NNP. Dr. Mitchell in his introduction of Steele spoke of the assistance he rendered to the people of the Town of St George immediately following Hurricane Ivan.

Nicholas Steele was one of three new Team Leaders announced at the convention by the Political Leader the others being new comers and successful business operators Mrs. Alexandra Otway Noel and Mr. Alvin Dabreo.
