NEW NATIONAL PARTY WELCOMES THE NDC POLITICAL LEADER'S

St George’s - The New National Party welcomes the NDC Political Leader's pronouncements that the Cruise Ship Port constructed by the previous Keith Mitchell administration is tantamount to the progress in the tourism sector.

It's amazing, though, that he has never mentioned that before and is doing so now with a view to soliciting votes in the upcoming election.
Pictures of the Port have been posted in several locations with NDC symbols so as to hoodwink people into believing it's an NDC project.

Thomas, who is the man behind his party's propaganda machinery over the past four and a half years, and even up to the early part of their 2013 campaign, has been saying that Keith Mitchell and the NNP did nothing for the country while in office for thirteen years.

Now, today, we are observing the hypocritical nature of the man, taking credit for the Cruise Ship Port Terminal Project, as the conduit for the future of the Nation's tourism sector.
The NDC leader must be shameful after he had discounted the project during the construction phase.

He was one of the chief proponents who encouraged his supporters and well-know organizations to propagandize the message that because of the project Grand Anse would experience severe flooding problems and our prize tourist attraction the world famous Grand Anse beach would be lost.

Today, reality has proven the Tillman Thomas NDC clan wrong and that Keith Mitchell's vision has brought numerous cruise liners here that never came to our shores before.

The NNP notes that despite the success of the Cruise ship Port plan, Thomas has never had the courtesy to apologize to the Nation and say thanks to Dr. Mitchell for a job well done.

The New National Party reiterates its position that major facets of the Nation's infrastructure must be in place and in conformity with international standards, if Grenada is to stay abreast of modern day development trends.

The Cruise Ship Port Terminal is part of that overall plan.

As an organization which understands the importance of developing the Nation's tourism sector, we must be reminded also that the Cruise Port and cruise facilities, including the commercialization of shopping centres and tourism and tours information desks are part of the bigger development trust.
That's enshrined in Dr Mitchell's ambitious plan of the reclamation of land for the new St. George's, encompassing its historical trappings.
