GRENADIAN POLITICIAN'S HOME VANDALISED

There are lots of questions surrounding the recent break-in at and vandalism of the home of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) representative from Carriacou. Some consider the criminal incident as just the latest in a spate of harassment ahead of the next general election in Grenada.

NDC politician Tevin Andrews discovered after returning to his home last Wednesday night that his home had been burglarized, bleach and other harmful substances poured over his clothes, his flat-screen television smashed and his furniture completely destroyed.

“I am in shock, the hate is real against me, I pray that doesn’t happen to anyone else, please be safe my people,” Andrews said.

“Despite the hatefulness I’m trying to use this criminal act against me as a teachable moment,” he added.

This is the second time since December that Andrews has experienced such action against him. His office was burglarized, robbed and vandalized over the Christmas holidays, when electrical equipment and other items were stolen. Police have not been able to track down the person/s responsible.

It is alleged the politician is a new target for criminals who would do anything to sabotage his chances of winning a seat in the next general election.
