Interestingly, the Bible makes a meaningful comparison between faith and works. As defined, faith is the “…substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…”
This statement/definition often seems to suggest that all we have to do is hope and believe. The reality of life tells us differently. The Bible also says in the book of James that “…Faith without works is dead” thereby providing the balance necessary.
This quote implies that our faith in God should motivate us to do the things that please God. To my mind, this speaks directly to Christian involvement in the many aspects of community development.
May our faith motivate us today to strive for betterment in our churches, our homes and our communities and our nation as a whole. Happy Easter to all.
