THREE ROAD FATALITIES RECORDED OVER EASTER WEKEND

MONDAY April 18, 2006: According to information from the Traffic Department of the Royal Grenada Police Force, there was a vehicular accident on the Lagoon Road, St.George’s this evening, which resulted in the death of two persons.

The deadly accident occurred around 6:15 pm in the neighborhood of the Glean’s Garage. The two persons who died in the accident are Michael Sylvester of Tempe, St.George’s and Roy Benoit of Boca, St.George’s. Both were pronounced dead at the scene of the tragedy. Four other persons – including two babies – sustained injuries in the accident and were hospitalized.

According to reports, one of the deceased persons, Mr. Sylvester, was the driver of the vehicle PD585. Police officers are continuing their investigations into the cause of the vehicular accident.

Also, on Friday April 14,2006, Fitz Molton Scott of Belmont, Carriacou, lost his life in a vehicular accident which involved a truck. These three accidents over the Easter weekend brings to 6 (six) the number of road fatalities for the year.
