MOUNT FAN WOMAN WANTS JUSTICE
A woman from the village of Mt. Fan in the parish of St. Andrew is calling on the police to intervene and have her ex-boyfriend arrested for unlawful damage to her property.
According to the woman, she has been trying to rebuild her house, which fell during the passage of Hurricane Ivan, but her ex-boyfriend broke down the whole structure, which was already erected. In addition, it is alleged that he has been making threats on her life.
The woman said that she reported the matter to the police but to date they have not showed up to deal with the matter. The woman claims that she visited the office of the Commissioner of Police sometime last week but was unable to see him. Currently, she is in the process of seeking the assistance of the COP so as to bring her ex-boyfriend to justice.
‘BAT’ SENT TO PRISON ON REMAND
Bartholomew Jeffery, alias ‘Bat’ of St. Johns, St. Andrew’s, was sent straight to the Richmond Hill prison last Monday, and will be brought back to court on May 03, 2006.
Bat was arrested on a Bench warrant over the last weekend, since he disobey a court order by refusing to show up when his trial was due to proceed. He was last seen a free man in the Tivoli area last Sunday directing traffic for a rally.
Bat is accused of committing a number of serious criminal offences, which includes, among other things, unlawful damage to property. According to a reliable source, the accused is alleged to have attacked his mother and damaged a number of the furniture in her house in the process.
