PARACLETE, St.Andrew’s (May 2, 2006): A large crowd of mourners, which comprised of family, friends and acquaintances of Earl ‘Wild-Away’ Julien, converged at Paraclete this afternoon to pay tribute and say farewell to the young man who tragically lost his life late last month after allegedly sustaining several blows to his head from stones that were thrown at him from another young man from his village.

Shane Ramdeen, an unemployed youth from the same village, has since been apprehended by police and charged in connection with the murder. Ramdeen made his first appearance at the Grenville Magistrate’s Court last week Monday where the charge was read out to him. He is presently at the Richmond Hill Prisons awaiting his next court appearance.

Many of the people at the funeral were seen crying and shaking their heads in disbelief as they tried to come to terms with the reality of the situation. Earl was known to be a very quiet, respectful person in his community and was never involved in ‘confusion with other people.’ Even though he is now dead and buried, based on the outpouring of sympathy and the positive things that were said about this young man, his memory will long live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him for his brief sojourn through life. May his soul Rest in Peace.

Grenadianconnection will like to extend its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the late Earl ‘Wild-Away’ Julien of Paraclete, St.Andrew’s. We hope that God will give you the strength to see you through this very difficult period.
